  1. Hello! I'm searching for a certain artwork picture from one our publications, (can't remember which😥), it's artwork of a sister in a red dress, with a summer hat, holding flowers with her back to the reader, waiting for someone to be resurrected. Any help finding this artwork would be very much appreciated! 😍

  3. We are close to this and have friends who live in Ft. Mc., when we talked with them to see if they and other brothers/sisters were alright ..they mentioned that the elders in their congregation told everyone to be ready, with their emergency kits, and full tanks of gas and to be prepared to evacuate, they said they were told this three days before the authorities evacuated everyone. It just reinforces the need for us to be prepared with our own plan in case of emergency, how things can change so quickly and how grateful we are to have such shepherds looking after us and listen to their direction.
  4. A friend of mine just got back from Vegas and saw the same sign, the friends she was staying with, who are locals, said that this billboard usually displays different reglious symbols or wording from different faiths and changes often, once it was something regarding the Quran, another time it was Buddist..so this month is Jehovah month! ha,ha
  5. I have this great 300 "ish" page story that was written by a brother who is a friend of the family, and he writes about the day after Armageddon, he describes in detail how quiet that first morning is and how the sounds of the turmoil and destruction outside from Jehovah’s great war,... sounds that they had listened to for such a long time, had finally stopped. He’s an older brother and writes about how he reaches for his glasses as he slowly gets out of bed and realizes that he doesn’t feel the aches and pains of old age that he normally did before, and that he doesn’t actually need his glasses..he uses good humor to write about waking up his wife of 50 years and discovering together how different they feel…then goes on to describe the rest of that first day after the end of this system..such a brilliant description, and after reading it I often think about that silence, the quiet of those first moments of the new world..and then slowly and steadily hearing the shouts of praise and unbelievable happiness of Jehovah’s people as they discover that first day.
  6. Mmmmm candy..best topic....atomic fireballs....I could eat those all day long!
  7. Wasn't there a fairly recent update that changed this and now the Nook HD has full access to Google Play?
  8. Do you have access to the google play store on your Nook?
  9. Maybe its a "soft mute" sometimes that happens and it just mutes apps. Try this: In order to fix this, you need to follow the instructions below Double tap the home button Swipe from left to right Tap the speaker icon to the far left It should show “Mute Off” below the play button Hope that helps..
  10. Interesting, we just had our CO visit this week and we were told nothing about being able to wear any pins and when speaking to a handful of our congregation elders during this CO week and specifically asking about the pins, I've been told by all of them that until the society clearly states otherwise.. that we shouldn't be using them.. Confusing.. but I guess officially.. the jury is still out..I'll just heed the advice of our elders until we know for sure. (Thanks Chuck for the thread link! )
  11. So I've been seeing lots of JW.ORG items like JW.ORG pins for the campaign in August, ties, ect...things that some are saying the elders in their congregation are encouraging and have had made or purchased for their congregation.. I'm confused as to the (for lack of a better word..) "etiquette" of using the logo in such a way. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of wearing a pin during the month of August especially..or something along those lines.. but didn't we have a very clear letter read regarding the proper or limited use of the logo recently? Has there been an update since then, or has anyone contacted the branch for clarification? Thanks!
  12. One of my favorite illustrations was used when my Father-in-law did the memorial talk for my Mom's funeral. He likened life to the tides of the ocean where the waves come in and out along the shoreline and how in death the tide receeds, but while that tide is out.... you can walk along the beach and pick up all sorts of little treasures sparkling in the sun that the water left behind, special memories of our loved one.... and hold onto those jewels and look forward to the day when the ocean will come back in with the hope of the resurrection. A beautiful and very comforting illustration.
