Technology...yesterday, after Service, I can’t find my phone. I did the necessary search. Then, “Go find my phone”.
As it ends up, I’m 9-10 miles from my phone. (It went home in the brothers car I was in for the morning) and, my iPod was 10 miles in the other direction.(Home!)
I’d have never imagined such would be possible, even 10 years ago.
I’ll get my phone at the meeting tonight!

Remember, We were just talking about this! Rick has put that tracker device on our key rings too! I am sure it was an instant relief just to know where it is too! So expensive to replace but I am sure it has become such a part of our life we would find a way to do so ASAP. I have a love /hate relationship with my phone. Hard to remember life without it.

When did the news become x-rated? Then I started thinking. Women’s products, men advertising catheters, (in the doctors office, thank you) um, men’s products.
I remember my, “not in the truth yet”, daughter saying she was being made uncomfortable with the tv’s adds, because of her young daughters.
Nevermind the, “news”.
Its flat out disgusting.

I’m rethinking the, “eating like a bird”. We just bought 80 pounds of bird seed. Should last us a little over a month. Or less!

And, in reality, they do it, and without our help, almost all the time. I see coveys of quail below the house. They know nothing of their cousins, “on the take”, up the hill, above them.
I saw a mama with a bunch of birds under her wings. I thought, “Oh I have to get some bird seed down her”. Then came to my sanity. Jehovah will do well, thank you.

Okay, Ross just had a geothermal heating unit put in. For heat, we have a wood stove, and one of those kerosene heaters.
My husband is considering a pellet stove. (He is in his 70’s, and really tired of the 5 cords of wood a year routine.
Today at our lunch, we were talking about it. And a thing came up I have never heard of. I think it is called a HVAC system. Runs off of electricity.
Anyone familiar with it.
I just hate the thought of being dependent on pellets for heat!
Now that we have electricity...
It’s supposed to heat in winter, cool in summer, and purify the air in the house. Sounds too good to be true to me!

HVAC is ok, it depends on where you are. If the PUD or local electric company is competitive then it'll work. Please look into a ductless heating system. We've had it for 3 years and we got a great tax deduction on our taxes for it. It's also forced air but much cheaper and it has air conditioning too.

I lived with a pellet stove for a couple of years, I can't really say I recommend then.
It wasn't serious cold there, mid 20F at the worst and not that for any length of time. The bags were 50pnds, about $5 buxs US each, we could use a bag a day and it only heated that one room. It was noisy, it has a fan and the parts that deliver the pellets to the burn box are all electric driven. No power, no heat, no fun...
The HVAC deal is better but having steel insert in your fireplace is the hot tip....

We actually have 4 different sources of heating. Cadet in the wall (no way), Individual infrared fireplaces in each bedroom (works great) ductless Mitsubishi heat- (works great) and pellet fireplace insert (wonderful). Our house is rather large, being a remodeled church, so we've had to adapt to alternative sources of heat.
We got a refund for adding economical heating making it more affordable.

I’m 74, and I have been a part of, well, our mid week education for some time, and at this moment, I am stymied. I have the initial call, and my assistant is like 5 or 6. And, no father in her home. Any suggestions?

I’m home, to wonderful, wonderful blue sky and fresh air. It was so upsetting g to see ones out in the smoke, (Redding, Carr Fire) with no masks on. It was just terrible!

Did it! I’m here, in Sacramento for the convention! Had to take a round about way to get here, (because of the fires, and closed highways) but it was a good drive, and I’m so thankful to be here...Tomorrow’s the day!

Weird day. I have two sons. One is a brother. The, “not in the truth yet”, called about that cult show. He recognized local Kingdom Halls on national television. We had a talk about that mess.
Then my other son called. There was a show on Fox TV about the persecution of our brothers in Russia. He said it was positive towards us. I caught the tail end.
But, I, not going to watch Fox News to catch it again.

For those of you with a iPhone 6, (that is what mine is) it started not holding a charge the full day. I think an update did it to me. I figured they’d fix the update. Well, they replaced the battery. Total was 52 something.
This offer is good until the end of the year. 25 dollars was labor...

Sister Bea, My mistake - I did go to Apple store in Baton Rouge and the above was what I was told. So, I'll go back once more. Sorry for your problems; that can be frustrating! In our service territory we have many 'dead areas', no matter what kind of phone you have. So if it is an emergency, I tell my family what car group I am with and then they can call one of them, or text, hoping their phone works, when mine doesn't. I usually call home several times to make sure all is ok. Technology!

I live in an area with no cell phone coverage. The only reason we can use the cell in our home is my husband set up a signal amplifier. For bars in whole house. But not dependable. It’s contingent on the quality of internet signal. Which is sketchy. If we have an important call, we have had to get in the car, travel four miles or so, down the highway, to a decent signal. (There’s is a utility pole down there that someone has written, “cell”.)
We have no landline.
The way it is. I was talking to a person about our lack of cell coverage, and the cell phone lady said they sold you a phone and you have no service there. Yep.

I’m looking for a post, and I haven’t found it. It was one Victoria did. About showing respect to the government, of the country she lives in. That struck me, and I should have done a screen shot. We live in a country where if we are not careful, we can say things that could put us supporting or not supporting a certain governmental position. (They’ve politicized about everything) The first step for me is keeping my mouth shut. So much ugliness. It’s not that I don’t care, it’s not for me to speak against. In any manner.
To advocate for the kingdom. Period. That one comment meant so much to me. A reminder for me to be respectful from a sister who is in a country where she has to worry about her safety. And here we are...much love to you, dear sister....

Her comment struck me as well, and I thought ‘what a good reminder’ to follow the principle found at 1 Peter 3:15 : ...”doing so with a mild temper and deep respect.”

I had my husband help me take apart a bird feeder. I wanted to clean it. The tiny nuts and bolts were rusted. I popped open a can of coke, put the screws and bolts in a tiny glass, poured coke over it, to get rid of the rust. Then I took the rest of the coke, got some ice out, and shared it with my husband. How’s that for pure insanity?

Speaking of pets names...You’ve already been introduced to Hop Along, our three legged kitty. Then there is Mister Demeanor. (I was threatened with a misdemeanor for not getting him fixed soon enough. (Yes, he got fixed, but on the vets schedule) Then Batgirl. Her paws look like the old Batman insignia.
Past names. Pole Cat. Really long legs. Kitten-Pom, Kittenpom, name of some place hereabouts.
We do have typical names. Oh, Ivy. (Before the political mess) here, anyway. We got her from some Russians in the state of Washington. She got stuck with, “Ivanka”.

My dog Cleo was a group decision. She had come in from the pound which is right next to the SPCA where I was volunteering. She had spent time there before coming to be rehomed . We were talking about what to name her when Cleo was suggested.
I then regularly spent time with her working on her shyness before she came home with me at about 5 months old.

Well, you asked for it.....he is named after a dog on the greek island of Kalamaki😹
Many years ago, myself and my hubby visited Kalamaki and it was beautiful and romantic and everything we could wish for. One of the "Local Characters" of our village was Dave the Dog. Technically he was a stray but he was so friendly and lovable. He regularly did his rounds and visited all the apartments and got fed in every bar. On our return from that holiday, we literally stepped out of the taxi and their was a stray white kitten meowing on our doorstep. Long story short, nobody knew where the stray kitty belonged but it was clear that he had adopted us. We went through the obvious choices of names for him, but "Dave" seemed so right. 😂
So there ya go, named after a dog in Greece. Obvious aint it😂😂

I just came across this quote. It was referring to becoming successful entrepreneurs.
But, I love it for us! True, we can’t actively serve Jehovah as much as we’d like, but where is our mind and heart during those, “down” times? And, we have so many wonderful things to think about. And give thanks to Jehovah for.

Such a beautiful meditation. I was thankful I woke up this morning, and I was thinking I needed to change my occupation because it left me with nothing to give Jehovah. I'm in a down time, but my thoughts are looking upward <3 Thank you for this, its given my heart some happiness.

A magazine’s adventure. Years ago, I was in Pierre, South Dakota. They had literature in the Lakota language. I had to have. Just one. I ended up giving it to a brother I knew would appreciate it. This was many years ago.
This last Wednesday, we had visitors. For our meal after service. They were the friends in a video. Blackfoot Tribe, from the Blood Reserve in Canada. They are speakers of their language, and are helping with translationing of literature in the language they speak.
When they knew we knew of a magazine in the Lakota language, they were interested. As I live and breathe, the sister of the husband I gave it to, went to their vehicle, and fetched it.
That magazine is on its way back to Canada!
I pick it up in the mid nineties.

I’ve had my exercise for the day. The Weather Bug said no rain. I hung out a load of clothes, on the line. Stripped the bed. Hung out the pillows, and the bedding, (on the upstairs balcony railing). And, I was thinking how nice and fresh things would be tonight. Looked across the mountains, saw rain coming. The race was on...
The bedding is fresher, the clothes are now hung upstairs on the inside lines.
April weather....
The bedding did get a tiny bit of a shower!

CO’s visit. A couple of things. “Blood card”? Nope. That is what the Red Cross issues to have typed your blood. What we have is a, “medical directive”.
Also, a strong reminder on copy rights. The JW.Org pins. Unless you got one from the governing body, (they own the rights, thereof) or specific permission from the organization, all those pins, and the cute Caleb and Sophia whatever, unless...violating copy rights. Plus, we have three apps, and three sites. Period. If we download anything not from the society, who knows? Some apostates, sneaky.

Frustrated. The bank I’ve used for over thirty years closed the branch, nearby, but kept the ATM there. I went by yesterday, and the ATM has become a large steel plate! Period!
That branch was 45 minutes from me. Now the nearest is almost two hours from me.
I have to close this account. If you can imagine. I’ve been doing business with my husbands bank. Now, I need a routing number for my social security, and slowly figure out the many ways I’m using that account.
Yes, we have separate accounts...but, now, we will be using the same bank. I shudder at possible mistakes. No choice.

My bank branch closed, locally, a few months ago. I opened account with a different Bank. Have been trying to close the previous (now out of town) acct. I have been on the phone for days and hours trying to accomplish this. Last month on the 28th they charged me, which rendered my account as overdrawn. Have spent four weeks trying to correct this, b/c they will not close account unless the balance is exactly zero. My current balance is $9 dollars and they are due for another fee tomorrow, which will put my status as negative again. They told me even going there will not straighten out the mess. This reminds me of the thought that mundane affairs can frustrate us, but these mess ups are not Jehovah's way. Sorry for what you are going through, MIss Bea, and for all others who are dealing with such worldly annoyances.

I just talked to my daughter, in Canada. There is a real chance they may have to move to Holland. Her husband’s homeland. I have mixed feelings. My granddaughters will become bilingual, as will my daughter. But, it is sooo far away. It was hard to get to Canada to see them!

They’ve been there six years, and in September of last year, I finally did get myself up there.
Deb is busy. The girls need duel citizenship, and that a process. Perfect documents needed. Get the passports up to date, but, it sounds like there is an avenue they didn’t know about. I know. Whatever happens, it will be okay. But for me, Canada was far enough away. She’s a Humboldt county girl, and we don’t normally wander far. Her two brothers are two hours from us!
So, she’s a bit of a culture shock to me!

I got to phone Paradise! I was taking the cat to the vet to be neutered, and the name of the vets is Paradise Animal Clinic.
I was running late. I used the cars smarty system. I said, call......
I used the full name. When that failed I said, “call paradise”. It went through. Made me smile the rest of the trip!
