  1. I won’t take a flu shot. But, I have my own version. So far. (I’ve even avoided my husband’s cold, a first) and it’s vile. Hard to drink, but so far...it’s honey, lemon juice and grated ginger. Plus cinnamon, for a blood sugar problem. It is so bad I have to drink it, then water to wash it down. I make sure that ginger is not left in the cup. And, just a couple of ounces of boiling water.

I took it this morning, and it broke loose some of what I woke up,with. So far, it is working.

I don’t measure it. Dump it in, and drink it

  3. Being invaded. Again. We were going to have the  beans that my husband cooked for dinner today. His sister texted. She’s on the way with a prime rib roast. Neither one of us are thrilled. Now, we are the old ones where his family ends up on these days. At least no meetings today. He was sort of speechless when I went out in Service on Friday, last month. Still had company. I missed the meeting, cooking. I wasn’t going to miss Service for them to eat leftovers. On to another day, soon to be over...

( My husbands not in the truth, and I’ve escaped the nonsense, now, this..)

  4. A spiritual redwood tree in our congregation has fallen and broke her hip. They put her back together, and, I’m saving that seat next to me for her. She’s stubborn as a mule, and I think that will do her well for her recouperation. She’s in good spirits. I’ve talked to her. The hospital is two hours from my home. I’m going to try to write her a note, almost daily. I’ll see her today. Please remember her in your prayers, friends.  Her name is Joan, one of my dearest friends...

I forget you are out there, Jerry. Of course you remember her. And, her mind is just sharp. She will remember you, and, I will give her your greetings. She is stubborn as a mule, as I said, and refused to get a walker, fell in the night, and, I just can’t think about her taking an

hour to get to the phone to call a brother to open her home so the ambulance staff could get in without breaking down doors!

She’s in good spirits. That will do her so well at this time.

Cause he’s our brother, on this site!

  5. There are some things that hurt so bad, you  can’t think about them, you help if you can, but, it hurts too much to think about it. Pray about it yes, but leave it with Jehovah, and, help if you can.

  6. Somewhere, I remember the suggestion that we memorize songs and scriptures. I got the songbook out. Fizzled. Then, as I was listening to the oldies station, and singing along, it dawned on me. Listen to those songs. A few are my absolute favorites. There are mine because I have listened to them over and over. I choose,”Loght in a darkened world” to learn. Did this because I thought of it as a dirge. Beautiful poetry. I want to memorize a babtismal song. (Well on my way) and a Memorial song! Some of our songs are just too beautiful for words!

I really enjoy Clive Cussler audio books. For the first time, I haven’t popped it in the CD player! I feel squimish shutting down a Kingdom song for that book!

    Scriptures. Another thing...

I know. I love it when I’m alone with my thoughts, and up pops a Kingdom song. What I’m doing is listening to the ones I want to learn, over and over. My travel time to and from the hall is an hour and a half. So, now, I need to go through the song book and figure out the ones I do know, and go from there. Some of them are so beautiful I’ve already listened to them over and over and over. It dawned on me, I know these!

Last week, our electronics wereamiss, everyone waiting for the song to come up on the screen. After a silent pause, a brother began singing, a capella, and most of the congregation chimed right in to finish on key.

Made the hair on my arms rise up, but beautifully done!

    4. Miss Bea

We’ve had to do the a cappella, too. Pretty special.

  7. You know I’ve decided I like the fantasy on Star Trek more then  I like the fantasy today, called, “news”.

  8. Meeting cancelled. I was 12 miles  down the road before I was contacted. A weirdo, in his shorts, with a shotgun is hunkering down in the bushes in our neighborhood, where the hall is. . All the neighbors have been told to stay inside.

Small amounts, but I have ancestors from four tribes in Africa! Jewish!!! Syrian-and Lebanese, Hawaiian, Far East...Eastern  Europe, Western Europe, Netherlands. I think it is just exciting. What is surprising is I do have a tribal ID card with the Yurok Tribe. And guess what? We are Mexicans! Our DNA stock, anyway. I was flabbergasted. Sort of thought we came over the Bering straight. Nope, from the south. My husband, who sort of thinks the center of the Yurok world  is Kenick, (not far from where we live) did not say too much when he saw where his relations are really from! And the list of indigenous people from Mexico is pretty big.

      Yes, we are all cousins!

I did my mine and my husbands and found it so exciting and fun! Imagine in the paradise when we welcome back our ancestors and the surprises in store. I can't wait. I so want to meet them all, hug and cry and listen to their stories.

  11. We now have our cameras on line. Sid’s nephew got it going. Now, we will turn the system on when we leave. All nine cameras. And, if someone comes in, we get to see it real time!

There is no real law enforcement here. In fact, we don’t lock our door. We figure if someone gets up The Hill, past the locked gate, past the two German Shepherds and wolf dog, “come on in”.we don’t need to replace a door or window. They can help themselves. Plus we have a big ol safe now. So, that’s another story. For them. The interlopers.

Goodness. Here on the reservation, we don’t even need building permits. Which can get sort of interesting. I’m just glad my husband goes overboard to shore things up. Actually, he’s a perfectionist. And, I’m not. One of those!

  12. Remember our beloved reference bible? The one I put away when our new bible came out. The one with all the notes in the margins from years of study. Well, our CO said it was one of a kind, and valuable. To fetch it from the shelve, and use it for our study!

I’m so happy. I loved that bible!

    2. Miss Bea

      Miss Bea

And, he shared how we need to be able to use the online study bible for next year. I’d heard rumors of its existence...it’s wonderful! And, he said if we don’t use it for our assignments, it will be very obvious!

  13. Night mare came true. I’ve thought how awful it would be for my cell phone to ring during the prayer. I did one better! I touched the wrong whatever on my iPad, and the song we just sung started, during the prayer. (It had just started) . Let’s top it off with the CO being there! The brother saying the prayer hesitated until I shut it off. It was quick. Sooooo, home I go, feeling like I could crawl under a snakes belly! I decided to fess up. To clear the friends near me.

At service, I asked to talk to the CO. Told him it was my iPad, and, would he like to council me? He laughed. And told me about the DO who heard a phone ring, finally ask for it to,be answered, and it was his! Said I keep good company, and actually he thought it was a bit funny.

    I didn't. I was mortified!

    I’m okay now!

Don’t feel bad Bea we had the CO last week and his device started to play the video in the middle of the meeting ..... we’re all human.

    4. Miss Bea

      Miss Bea

I know. And I kno it happens. What upset me was it was during the prayer! My device has shamed me as much as it can! Downhill from now on.

  14. I have raked and picked up 13 fifty gallon garbage cans of leaves. So far. And hauled them up to the garden. I’ve gotten so good at it, I can take two of them up the hill at the same time! This year, I’m counting. And, I tell you, there are thousands of them lurking in the trees. Still. It’s a scheam, Aimed at my sanity!

It's supposed to rain today so I just raked and collected the leaves on the KH parking lot this morning. 11 fifty gallon bags of leaves. :scared:

      13 bags is a lot!

    3. Miss Bea

      Miss Bea

We have to rake those things. And keep up with them. Three big dogs! It’s a matter of the leaves and poop patrol. Raining. A sunny day, and my friend, the rake, shall sally forth. Again.

    4. Miss Bea

      Miss Bea

Up to 18. Today. And, these aren’t fluffy loads. They are packed in as tight as I can get them!

I have decided when that last leaf falls, I shall sit out on the deck and have me a glass of wine. Underneath the leafless trees!

  15. My son was attacked by a young man, not right in his head. He damaged his truck, but not him. But he said he was coming back to get them. He’s an individual who needs locked up, indefinitely. (Sex crime against a three year old) But, he was just released from some sort of incarceration. My daughter in law...well, this is all just incredible. They are not in the truth. Yet. Wonder if they will see it as a wake up call. At any rate, it is horrible. We know it’s out there, but when it gets so close to home...

He’d been out of juvenile incarceration for two months. And, should have been moved on into the adult prison population. My son knows his step-father. He’s Native, (the step-Father)and a nice guy. Offered to pay for damage to his truck. Mental illness. At this point, there is no helping them, but to set them aside from the rest of us. It was totally random. Until he said he’d come back and “finish the job”.There were two incidents so far. The initial threat, the attack on the truck, and, the promise to come back. And what he threatened is not speakable.

      Satans system...

  16. I went to the cardiologist today. He’s had all the proper testing done. Today was diagnosis time. Found a small hole in my heart, plus a murmur. However...for my age he gave me a clean bill of health, heart wise! He was impressed with my taking serrapeptase, (thank you, Vernalee!) Plus, he wants me to start taking flaxseed oil! It was a load being removed from me. And, I’m thankful to Jehovah!

On going saga. I’m at the laughing stage. When they did a MRI on my neck, (getting funnier) they found a nodule on my thyroid. Lab tests indicate it’s not hot. But, alas, I need to head off to necular medicine to get the grimy details.

A sister actually heard my neck make a noise Sunday. Not good. I feel fine, and I’m at the point where I know I can do okay without a thyroid gland.

My neck. I need it halfway healthy to hold up my head. We start with physical therapy, oh, and twelve visits to a chiropractor! What to do?

Well, auxiliary pioneer this month, and keep praying for the Kingdom!

When everything is considered what you've just wrote about your plans for the field ministry represent the best course of action. Given that there are things we won't be able to change in this world, we better just trust in Jehovah hoping for the best and longing for His promises. May Jehovah bless your plans dear Sis Bea.

  18. Okay, I don’t know if I need prayers or sympathy! We have an ATV, side by side. (Like a golf cart) My husband uses it here on the property. Get wood, haul things. He was gone this week. I ran out of wood. Yes, me and the wheelbarrow managed. On a steep hill!

So, Sid is about to teach me how to drive it! I’ve rode with him, and I do not think it’s easy! And, yes, I can drive a standard!

Did it! No more double shifts for us! It was 10-7. But, then, we had to drive 2 hours to get home. Our biggest danger was locking ourselves out of the security building. Double lock thing. And one of the locks did not pop out when it should have. I told Patricia we just need to used the dead bolt. Forget the little door handle thing! Wouldn't that have been something?

  21. I am off on an adventure. To Canada, to see my daughter, and three precious grandchildren. She's not in the truth, yet, but she told me the Kingdom Hall is walking distance from her home! By myself, coming home, via Charlottesville, NC, if you can believe! Pray for me! Love you all!

I long for the day when these, "gentle hunters", hunt no more. I have nightmare stories. (Some funny) like us looking up from the dinner table, and at one of the cat food dishes, a mole, enjoying his meal, as we enjoyed ours! He was unceremoniously escorted out doors. (As gentle as possible, when part of the process is to trap the critter!)
