Precision

I am Roberta Brown, and I used to visit a previous version of jwtalk way back when. There are familiar names here, and a few that are no longer here - I know that at least two have passed away.  I didn't know until today that this site is still active, and am pleased as punch about it !!

I have been blessed by Jehovah.  The announcement has been made that I got appointed a ministerial servant tonight.

Today my parents were baptized and I'm glad they made that choice.😁😁😁

Today we had our first physical circuit assembly in 3 years.  With Branch Rep.  Great program and it was lovely to be there.☺️

Good day or night friends.  I'm happy to pass on this good bit of news.  I've really learned patience thanks to Jehovah and his organization.  I had my privileges taken away pre covid for reasons I didn't 100% agree with, but, they are Jehovah's appointed servants.  I read about Mephibosheth and took his example to heart.  Well, I just got my privileges back, and I feel like Jehovah rewarded me for my patience.  My computer abilities are being used to the full, and, I'm being told that I might be more busy than some ministerial servants.  I've already been given a special project in the literature department, and I can even do cart witnessing despite it being reserved for the pioneers for now.  I'm helping run the software and they've told me that I need to be a good example and participate.  I get a lump in my throat thinking of how quickly my role changed in the congregation, which was an answer, maybe even too much of an answer, to my prayers.

Went into local gas station/convenience store, yesterday. Cashier says. "Pauline, I heard meetings are starting up again on April 1. " Can I count everyone in the store as an rv? HaHa

I chose to leave my last part time job due to increasing pressure to compromise and work on meeting  nights. I knew if I put Jehovah first I would be ok. This made the desicion easy.
Started a new job Saturday it is easier about 2 minutes drive from home as opposed  to 20 minutes.
There is down time in the job while waiting on customers  where I can use the time for personal study and letter writing.

I want to thank the moderators of this discussion forum for keeping the forum clean from all apostate material. You are doing an excellent job of making sure that only appropriate things are posted. I feel safe here.

Just finished a Sheparding call with an Elder and the Overseer. Was nice. I was surprised though at the request/offer if I'd like to serve the congregation in a greater way, I was basically being asked on the spot if I could be in the position of a MS!

Of course, I had to explain the condition of my health and why I couldn't hold such a position, but it was a nice compliment regardless to be encouraged to reach out for such a role.

Good evening Everyone!   I just wanted to share  what has been going on since April due to the Pandemic.    As some of you already know, I work at a school.  Well, my Superintendent has been connecting and listening in on our congregation zoom meetings since April and has not missed but three since she began (one was due to a funeral).  She has even listened in when we have abbreviated Watchtower lessons due to our Circuit Assembly last week.    She and her 89 year old mom listen in and said they love listening in and learning.  They are Catholic.   I send her via text the public talk title each week and the Watchtower lesson for that week.   About a week ago after she missed a couple of Sundays she said to me, "Please don't forget us!"   I told her she can rest assured that we would not.   Anyways it is encouraging to see ones of a different faith connecting to our Zoom meetings.

Last Sunday I had two talks in Northern Spain, so we stayed in a rural B&B with a farm. The site was wonderful and the owners were extremely nice to us. Then when we were leaving we found out they are JWs.

Spiritually, sometimes we fail. And sometimes we may fail badly. But may we remember this - “Never confuse a single failure with a final defeat.” 

My mother just called wondering if she should open her home to a family coming to Canada from Venezuela. I enthusiastically  said yes  knowing how difficult our spiritual family in Venezuela are having. Another family will be sponsoring them and getting them work.  We don't know who they are or what their names are but like one of our songs says - Although we've never met you, we love you. May we always put our trust in Jehovah and look for his blessing on all things.

PT is over. It was fine and the congregation was happy. Thank you Jehovah. Next week is COV. So busy these days, but that's the good kind of busy.

My niece in St Maarten had brother Sanderson drop by their meeting this morning. He was there to check out the disaster relief work, and on a tight schedule, but stopped by the hall and shared some words of encouragement.

Back from visiting Warwick, Wallkill, and Patterson for the last 5 days. I was in complete awe. What a mighty God we serve!!!❤️

The last talk of the CO was so refreshing... talked with him about my anxiety. He told me anxious friends are often closer to Jehovah than other... Seems true, I/we spend a lot of time praying.

This afternoon was a recent installment of Pauline's-ongoing-pizza-party. The last two  times have been more 'game days' than our previous karaoke and line dance events. I'm pretty much ready for everything with karaoke machine and music available; CDs and CD &G's and wifi availabilty.. Today had some surprises for me. One: a family brought with them a young teenager that used to be in our cong. Right now his mother and older brother are incarcerated and I have been writing to them. .... Two: My non believer husb, who helps with the prep stayed for most of the gathering and had a really good time. He also got skunked at chess. Three: my middle son, who has been studying in another place  stayed for the whole shindig. He worked his brains out with set up and clean up and played  some card games with the young folks.  He said he really had a good time and plans to cover the Watchtower in the AM with his father and I. 

Recap: Having broken  my spine Sept 2016 and several other broken bones due to lifetime bone and joint probs, my Med team wanted me injected with bone meds, refused by insurance company.  Eventually, I called my ins and talked to a very nice young man. Started telling him about the public ministry  of J. Witnesses and he responded that he was my spiritual brother; he checked that my meds were refused accidentally and were, in fact, included in the formulary,  and reversed the error promptly - meds were appropriately available.
 

Very encouraging afternoon B.Study. This person has been in and out of two hospitals this week. She was strong enough for her study this afternoon, and I got ready for it, pronto. Got a relatively-new-sister in the loop and she joined the study. B.S. expressed how much she loves her study and meeting the friends and has talked about what she's learning to a para medic and a family member. She said it has also positively changed her life and outlook in ways we can only imagine. Other sister exchanged some ultra-positive input and offered an endearing closing prayer.    Sometimes Jehovah gives us just what we need times three.
