  1. Oh yes I meant medical birth control... Pills, patches, even contraceptivesWe were meant to fill the Earth as you mentioned so Jehovah would have never seen humans not trying to have children had Adam/Eve never sinned. He also wouldn't ever need to witness abortions take place Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

  4. First time contributing to this game MARK
  5. The front page of the Sunday Bergen Record newspaper (in North Jersey) featured a baptism photograph from the Spanish International Convention. Here is the article: http://www.northjersey.com/news/jehovah-s-witnesses-pack-metlife-stadium-1.1043189 And photographs of the actual paper
  6. The brochure is a release from the 2013 district convention. Its gwarwd towards those of the Jewish tradition, not even giving a lot of mention about Jesus until the end I think. Even the illustrations are geared towards the reader, for instance the way a prayer is held (ie hands are up in the air versus two hands put together palm to palm) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  7. Today, the most important day of my life. Baptized with 5 additional sisters and 7 brothers.

Welcome Sister, the most important day indeed.

  8. A sister in my congregation showed an article to me, which is a newsletter from a local hospital in the area. They have a department called "The Institute for Patient Blood Management & Bloodless Medicine and Surgery." This hospital is known for their bloodless surgeries, and many come to the area to have surgery at this hospital. They're Fall 2013 newsletter (not yet online at the moment, but there are other newsletters here: http://www.englewoodhospital.com/ms_bloodless_news.asp) is what the sister shared with me, and it features a story of a sister who needed brain surgery. Turns out that PBS followed her to do a piece. A fine example this sister is - and she was able to get some good news in to share! The link is found on YouTube:
  9. I know they have it in Canada - as my sister lives there. Her box is not far though, since she's on a corner lot. Now with paperless billing, online banking, e-mail, and other forms of technology it seems that there just isn't a demand for the USPS.
  10. Great idea to give out the w13 6/1 out. In fact, I think a great way to tie in last month's Watchtower on Prejudice is to make a return visit and give them the Awake mag for 7/1 on Protest. I don't live in FL, but there are anti-violence/justice rallys and demonstrations going on in NJ/NY area. While it is important that we remain neutral, like someone else mentioned, we still need to know what is going on in the news in order to apply it to our ministry. In the wake of this Trayvon Martin trial, has anyone had any interesting conversations regarding "Is Protest the Answer" mag?
  11. The Stanley was rennovated when the organization purchased it. However this year it went another series of rennovations. New chairs were replaced even though the original side moldings were kept in tact. I hear that there are two TV monitors to the side which is to help for the ASL assemblies. And other changes... can't wait to check it out at our District Convention in 2 more weeks!
  12. Our assemby hall just went through major renovation. It was an old theater that was bought out by the Witnesses a while back. Very grand place - they used to do tours but unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to a tour before they stopped doing it. Our local news station has a clip about the renovation - here it is: http://newjersey.news12.com/multimedia/discover-new-jersey-stanley-theater-1.5174742
  13. I haven't had any trouble viewing the mobile version of the site and searching different topics. If there is an app though it would be good to know, but it probably will not be an official Watchtower Society app.
