  1. With all our electronic options we are using our bibles less and less. So I suggested we test our selves and see how our skills are when looking up scripture. I name a scripture and who ever thumbs through it and finds it first and reads wins a point. 10 scriptures highest points wins a Starbucks coffee or treat:). We also make it a point to just use the Bible in one meeting. Usually Sunday’s.,
  2. Thank you to all who made it possible to have this source of encouragement. Maybe one day JW.org will go interactive?! until then glad we got this one!!
  3. I think you handled that well . Moving forward like hatchetgirl said, use it as an opportunity to give a witness on your next laundry day. Go ready with a tract. Jehovah willing possibly a return visit and future Bible study😀
  4. What I would do when my children were younger I would pick 10 scriptures some well known and others not so much. Then I would type out each scripture with words left out intentionally. So basically it was a fill in the blank. Then they would have to fill in the missing words as best they could. It was alot of fun to see what they would use as missing words. Then after they were done with all 10 we would then use the Bible and read there’s out loud and compare. For example Isaiah 9:6 For a ________has been ______ to us, A _______ has been given to us; And the rulership will rest on his ______. His name will be called Wonderful ________, Mighty God, Eternal ________, Prince of _______ It’s fun and they learn the scriptures at the same time.

  7. I really enjoyed this topic and enjoyed the comments. It only makes biblical sense that we would view income this way and it proves that We are truly following the footsteps of Christ closely. Jesus undoubtedly would have been the richest man on earth had he chosen too. However his Objective was not to be on the number one spot on the Forbes list of men, but to humbly be a slave and a minister to his brothers.
  8. I also had a bad experience. A brother from my hall asked if i could purchase some of the cd's which amounted to 70 dollars from the site. I agreed to it and via paypal money was transferred, however no cd's were ever received. When i asked paypal what to do they said to ask him for proof of delivery and thats when it went bad! Needless to say i was banned for life and never received a refund or cd's. In fact he was quite mean and even accused me of not being a brother?! I wrote back explaining that i was sorry and would rather lose 70 dollars than a brother Quoting 1 Corinthians 6:7,8... So proceed with caution. I however hold no grudge and no resentment...
  9. A brother serving in bethel recounted this experience. He said that one evening during a family study Brother Losch open the forum for questions. One question he got was concerning the identity of the King of The North. He asked " do you really want to know who the King of The North really Is? " And in excitement the friends answered yes! He said alright I'll tell you who The King of The North is! "It's the Polar Bear" The friends laughed of course but he continued and finished by saying "we can not tell you, what we don't know"
  10. Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! Can't help but yell out “You are worthy, Jehovah our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they came into existence and were created.” !!
  11. what a circus!! perfect song for a group of Godless people. Here's a list of other songs I think would have been appropriate ! "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)" " War Machine " " Walk this way " " The devil went down to Georgia " Lol!! You get the point..
  12. I can tell you that is a slippery slope. I would encourage you not to serve alcohol at your gathering especially with so many attending. Ephesians 5:15 says "So keep STRICT watch that how you walk is not as unwise but as wise persons". I'm certain our brothers will make the best of the gathering with OUT the presence of alcohol. Make it a matter of prayer and meditate on scriptural advice.
  13. Revelation 17:17 For God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought, yes, to carry out their one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God will have been accomplished. ... Indeed!!! Sure seems that way. We will know shortly!
  14. Revelation 22:17 And the spirit and the bride keep on saying, “Come!” and let anyone hearing say, “Come!” and let anyone thirsting come; let anyone who wishes take life’swater free.
  15. I appreciate the fact that the father always looks fit. The governing body is not only teaching our children valuable principals/lessons but also teaches us fathers to maintain a healthy balance view of our health
  16. Psalm 8: 3 When I see your heavens, the works of your fingers, The moon and the stars that you have prepared, 4 What is mortal man that you keep him in mind, And a son of man that you take care of him? TRULY AMAZING!!!!
  17. A young brother in our hall related his theory on why dinosaurs once existed. He said that the Angel in charge of the earth was endowed with the powers of creation. This Angel created creatures strange and scary and really we're not in line with Jehovah's thinking. In time Jehovah decided to do away with them which made the angel upset., who later became satan.. I thought it was funny and creative !!!
