  1. I remember hearing this I think in a zone talk (or some other big link-up at least, maybe even an annual meeting) and it was related as being in an unnamed Eastern European country (implied to be Russia) and the literature was a bible teach book. I’m very dubious of experiences like this unless they are in print (which I hope someone finds that this one is). Turns out I’d asked this same question and forgotten I’d even asked it:
  2. It’s Milford Sound (fjord) in New Zealand taken back in August.
  3. I hope we will celebrate festivals like they did in ancient Israel but imagine the fabulous style with which we celebrate as a perfect society. If Jehovah does decree festivals, imagine how we will commemorate our deliverance through the tribulation. Think of the songs we will write, think of the ways we will express our joy and our thankfulness. International Conventions are a small glimpse of our potential for celebration. And while there is reason to believe we won’t live in cities, on some level we will still need design for structures and if we do have any version of cities things like city planning will be done perfectly. In every part of the world I have visited I have always observed some public area or structure that has been poorly designed. In the new world that will not be an issue, plus we will not need to worry about issues like security or hostility or even disabled accessibility; two elements will rule when it comes to design - style and practicality. It is a true joy of mine to see style and practicality combine to make something beautiful, whether it be in fashion, inventions, or architecture. That is a hallmark of Jehovah’s creations, beautiful but purposeful. In the new world we will be free of today’s constraints i.e. money, time, self-interest etc. and we will be able to design, plan and build to our heart’s content and all without harming the planet, everything in harmony.

  5. I think while the timeline is clearly not specific In it’s dates for the future, it does emphasise that Prophecy has taken us all the way to the threshold of the Great Tribulation, with the exception if the Cry of Peace (which itself is followed almost immediately by the outbreak of the tribulation), we are not waiting for anything else to be fulfilled before we enter the Tribulation. It really is an “any day now” - “could be in tomorrow’s news” situation. It seems there is nothing left for the last days to do in terms of prophecy - the next prophecies to see fulfilment are those successively falling dominoes of the GT/Armageddon.
  6. I tried both these methods continually and then suddenly the app crashed and when I opened it everything started coming through. Thanks all. Glad to have that back up and running!
  7. Hi friends, Hoping someone can help. I was having trouble with JW Library and decided to reinstall the app, having done this I knew I would need to re-download publications, strangely though I seem to have limited access to publications. No watchtowers or meeting workbooks, limited media available. I will attempt to attach a video. Seems strange, not sure if its just an issue that will get an update or whether the issue is with me. 8. Hi, I am looking for help to find/verify an experience I distinctly remember hearing, I think it was in a special talk or a zone talk. Pretty sure it was before the broadcasts had started. The experience went this way: In a land under restrictions the authorities planted a (banned) bible teach book in the oven of this witness couple. They arrived for the search and made a show of looking around other rooms the house instead of going straight for it. In this time a fellow witness had arrived with a pie. Realising they were in the middle of a search the witness elected to place the pie in the oven and sneak away unnoticed. On finding the book in the oven the witness takes the book (knowing it would soon be found by the search team) and left the pie in its place. Thus when it came for the “aha” moment and the oven was opened all involved were shocked to find a mystery pie in the oven, none more so than the officers who knew they had put a teach book there. I am certain of hearing this experience however I have no memory of where I heard it and I wish to verify it before sharing it. It was maybe 5(?) years ago now I remember it being a real talking point after the talk. I believe it was a special talk or zone talk back when link-ups were relatively new. Somehow hoping someone else knows for certain the origin of the story in order to confirm it is not simply a legend.
  9. http://www.bbc.com/travel/gallery/20190827-a-mystery-in-the-worlds-oldest-desert I found this to be interesting in line with the final book setting.
  10. I saw this photo on a wall in the Holocaust Museum in DC and it didn’t identify the type of prisoner photographed and given that it is Black and white one cannot tell the color of their triangles. I have a feeling I have seen it in a video or publication somewhere however in my digging I haven’t found anything? Yet I am certain I saw it prior to my visit to DC (only a couple of months ago) because when i looked at the photo even though it had no identifiers I thought: “those are witnesses!” But maybe its just the Mandela affect? In my online research there seems to be no identification either as all the photo descriptions will simply refer to them with the general term “prisoners”. Anyway my question is, does anyone know for sure if these are witnesses/if it was in a publication?
  11. Hi Friends, [This probably isn’t the right place so please move if need be I wasn’t really sure where it should go.] Anyway I am going to visit Israel in a couple of weeks and just wondered if anyone here has ever been? If so care to share any tips? Or any who have always wanted to go is there anything especially you long to see? We haven’t gone with any tour companies as none of the witness company’s had tours to match our dates and the rest spend too much time at Christendom’s shrines. We do have an itinerary and have booked in to the branch tour as well as other activities only possible with guides. I guess I am just looking for any tips or suggestions in case there is something we don’t know that we haven’t included. Or perhaps a very popular destination that you think isn’t worth seeing. I also wonder if anyone has been to Vad Yashem (the holocaust museum in Jerusalem). You see I have it in the itinerary, and it would be great to see regardless of whether it has any mention of witness persecution but I have been to the US holocaust museum in Washington DC and I am going to Auschwitz in Poland just after Israel so I feel that if it doesn’t make any comment on our brothers and sisters then I may not go. It wouldn’t surprise me, or even to me seem very wrong if it didn’t mention us as I can imagine it is the story of the Jewish people by the Jewish people if that makes sense. Not that I do not wish to learn about the plight of the Jewish people, I would just prefer to do so in a place where I can learn of the plight of my own brothers and sisters as well as the other victims.
  12. In fact you can actually see the dark grey space at the bottom of the right hand side of the screen (below the picture on the tablet screen) which is the same colour as the space you get on ipad Books app.
  13. This is what it looks like to me. Split screen with JW Library open to the bible and a PDF of the WT about Gog but I could be wrong.
