Melbourne to enter 6th lockdown from 8pm... this never ends
-
Thank you Tortuga (Richard) for years of moderating on this forum. You're such a treasure!

Any recommendations for multi-region Blu-ray player? Thank you in advance.

I just bought an excellent one with terrific reviews from Amazon. The brand name is "Tojock" and it
is sold by Tojock Direct on Amazon. Just go and read the reviews. They usually have a coupon on the listing you can clip too to make it cheaper and when you get it, if you leave a review on Amazon they will send you a 15 dollar Amazon gift card via email. What I really liked about it is it loads really quickly and it allows you to skip previews! (My Samsung blu-ray would let us do that).

Delta variant puts Sydney into a stricter lockdown starting today ...no new cases in Victoria and WA. International travellers arriving in Australia from next Friday will be asked which vaccine they have received and where they were given it
-
Sydney enters 2 weeks of strict lockdown as Delta variant spreads, the COVID-19 nightmare continues….
-
Please continue to be diligent and cautious in protecting yourself, we can't let our guard down now, I feel we are so close to Jehovah's great day. It would be such a shame to miss out on seeing it because we were careless in our precautions. As Delta spreadsworldwide (and it will), we will all be in the same situation soon. You are not alone, you will never be alone.

Huge storms and floods in Victoria, 160000 without power, our meeting attendance was so low due to electricity outages

I have spotted something interesting above the picture in your avatar! LOL

🤣 I think it is an Indian snack. That is how I interpret it although I did remember the caption said it was your favorite virtual food.
But I'm sure most South Asians would claim it is vada , their favorite snack.
Quite misshapen doughnut looking snacks. Savory not sweet. Eaten with yoghurt. Yum.
Absolutely healthy food if it was not deep fried.
Made from lentils..

Zoom is wonderful tool, tomorrow we have a brother from New York Bethel giving a public talk in our congregation.

We had a brother from New York give our talk yesterday. Next month we have a brother from London giving the talk.
-
No donuts to share? I'll ask @JennyM to chime in. At the very least, the title of the talk, busy Br. Mod. Shepherd's Pie will suffice.
-
ok how about rating the talks in descending order
10 shark fins soup
9 pork ribs
8 shepherd's pie
1 plain donut from anywhere exc. Woiwurrung. There are no donut shops there

It is the zillions of mice that got me, when I saw those mice in Australia I just thought man that
is Biblical proportions. I have an RV/study moving to Australia. When she gets there and has an
address I will be in touch and see if you can help me out in finding someone to call on her. ( New world explorer).

Any one here used AliExpress? I would like to buy something there, but never used their service, any thoughts? Thank you

I order frequently, because of the prices.
If they don't arrive, I open a dispute and I request a refund.
I always check for reviews with pictures. I'd avoid a product without picture reviews, but even if I "risk" it, I'm calm since I know I can get a refund.Hope this helps.

Why everything is so bright and large? Forum got upgrade? Well in my opinion it's a downgrade ...but that is just me. Before everything was so nice and compact easy to view.

Remember to add the up button (or top button) to save scrolling through posts. Not a fan of the new look, as the stats column on the right can’t be closed. Takes up space.

Did you look at pngtree? out of curiosity. I didn't realize before I got on, that it's limited to 2 downloads a day for the free version, so takes a lot of planning and you gotta be sure you want THAT particular PNG. I'm loving the images so far. I'm starting to make a collection of 8 bit art that I want to apply shaders to in the future to make some nice animated scenes that represent different parts of the day. I checked out vecteezy. The images look really nice! To use it for free, it looks like attribution is required. That doesn't seem too bad.
-
...looks like pngtree requires attributions as well. idk about anyone else who uses these vectors, but I'm making a txt file for links.

I had a wonderful time sharing together in a spiritual meeting with brothers and sisters from St. Lucia and Venezuela, zoom is a incredible tool that Jehovah's organization benefits right now.

For paragraph 12 in yesterday’s Watchtower study,I related how I Zoomed in for a public talk in Myanmar by a friend who’d moved there & stayed for their Watchtower However, nothing was translated. I couldn’t understand a word. Still, knowing the format, I figured who was reading, gauging how many times he read & how long each reading took, I managed to give a short comment on the correct paragraph. Afterwards, those who understood English said it was just fine, and those who didn’t were tickled that a foreigner would take the struggle to participate part in their village meeting.

Does anyone know where to find songs made by our spiritual family about Paradise? etc

Despite Covid-19, video production(s) and construction preparation is going ahead, (here in Sydney -Australia) Jehovah never stops. Once the virus is under control, a lot of projects will be ready to go instantly.
-
Hope to see you in one of the productions. Make sure you speak with a aussie accent. So excited to be able see our brothers in action. I remember those times long ago where the congregations would take turns to 'act' in some of the conventions dramas. Phew it was a lot of hard work. And that was just some amateurish effort. Don't know how many takes our budding actors and actresses will be put through to churn the very professional videos production.
Pray very hard before the director says 'Action'
Can't wait to see what the Society have in store for us.

Neil, my friend (Beggar for the Spirit) thinking of you, miss your comments - hope you're doing ok?

Melbourne is getting 1.8 billion vaccine factory, to prevent COVID-19 (and future pandemics)

Am I on the right forum? Tortuga is back? or, I am still dreaming and about to wake up? LOL

Victoria State is under long Covid-19 lockdown, (almost 2 months) some of us start receiving letters of support and love from other congregations in other states of Australia, very heart warming indeed.
-
Hope those affected by California and Oregon fires are doing ok? Please take care and stay safe.
