  1. No doubt, there will be some females wearing slacks tonight, visitors and maybe sisters. My intended choice is not trousers. Of course, fashion or style is not out main focus, but we still notice a bit. As per the update, many will enjoy greeting or being greeted at the meeting. We are thankful for the privelege and that we have sustenance and covering to get us through this day.
  2. Winter warning for today, but mostly cold, rainy, and some parts flooding. Catch up on phone for Memorial-reminder-day. Done. My son in Maine said he has heavy snowing. My youngest son in Texas has had fires in his area. Lotta weather going on. I read it is meteorologist day.
  3. Have trousers for tonight's meeting, but don't want to slack off.
  4. Snowed this morning and in 20s Fahrenheit when I took my dog out walking. Warmed up a bit this afternoon, but I didn't get out of phys therapy till 5 pm. Will still go to meeting, but sore. Waiting to restart my cart assignment but 4 med/hosp appointmenst is too much. Next week I have 5. Will prob wait til after then for cart work. Anyway, tomorrow will be in the teens.
  5. ties, no beard, black Bible = no, can't pass the quiz.
  6. I hear about bygone days when we did not comment on someone's appearance. Just, "good to see you," for which our COBE answers, "Good to be seen." I have commented on brothers newly grown facial hair. Is new beard growth inviting responses? I imagine that will pass soon enough.
  7. Brother Jonathan Smith mentioned skeptics when discussing David. Good joke (pun) on antiskeptic cream.
  8. Heavy rain today and rest of work week. Heading for an appt with surgeon. Will not get dog out aforetime. Hope it slows down later. Hope that your weather is positive for placing invitations.
  9. I know a sister who just doesn't like beards. I think some are becoming and others are be-going, but it's really none of my business. I am glad brothers have a fashion choice although it may take more time and attention to keep well groomed. Whether bare or hirsute. keep putting that best face forward.
  10. Powerful response by Steven. Some things touch me more deeply on this reading.

(Acts 7:2-) Stephen replied: “Men, brothers and fathers, listen. The God of glory appeared to our forefather Abraham while he was in Mes·o·po·taʹmi·a, before he took up residence in Haʹran, 3 and he said to him: ‘Go out from your land and from your relatives and come into the land that I will show you.’

  11. p.s Don't mean to be misleading. I have not yet done all the re-reading. Lotta stuff. Wow!
  12. I miss the book study arrangement b/c we could delve deep with a smaller group. I enjoyed studying and restudying the Revelation Climax. I recall reading that Bab. The Great began to fall in 1914, but the Complete destruction is still ahead. Also that the JUdgment of the Sheep and the Goats will occur after the complete destruction of BTG. Updates, corrections, or references would be appreciated. Hope this is in the right thread. Thanks, ys pauline
  13. A sister was talking on the phone and mentioned a discussion in service about King of the North and King of the South. I started to reread those articles and will do so with more scrutiny starting tomorrow. History in the making promotes the necessity of review to older ones like me. i will also read this thread with more intensity.
  14. Hovering around zero here, but it has been in the teens last two overnights. Should be mid to high 40s this time, next week.
  15. Another set of words like minuend, subtrahend, and reduce indicate the property of subtraction.
  16. I hope everyone has a way to deal with Xcess heat. Here, I am hoping for Spring. We had a very chilly night and it is too cold out to walk my dog. I went out for a bit. Last summer made it difficult to breathe. One season's challenge at a time.
  17. Lizzie Borden was not guilty, according to the court decision.
