  1. Wonderful new features with this new update. I'm enjoying it...
  2. And now an interesting question: since UK wants to leave EU, and since English is the official language of the EU, which will be the new "official language" of the European Union? German? French?
  3. It has been released on the regional conventions. So it is official, we now have our own version...
  4. Brother JoelInteresting your remark. I believe there was a good reason why both versions (Portuguese and Portuguese-Brazilian) changed the translation from discreet to prudent. In Portugal, usually the expression "discreet" is related with the meaning of someone unobtrusive, circumspect, low profile. And "prudent" is related with someone cautious, wise, sage. Therefore the second meaning is more adequate. In reality all the other bible translations that I have in Portuguese use the expression "discreet". This is a return to a more traditional expression and a more meaningful term in my opinion. I'm curious, what is the word that you use in Angola for someone cautious, wise, sage? Another significant move to a more traditional approach in Portuguese, present in both translations, is the change of the name of the last bible book "Revelation" to "Apocalipse".
  5. Yes, you are right, if the intention is to steal the reports. But my question is related with the personal data that is recorded in the cloud. With "Ministry Assistant" I don't have any problem. Your information (personal and reports) as I believe, are stored in the secretary computer. That's fine for me. But I ask, would you be comfortable if the secretary stored that information in his PC at work and other employees could access that computer? I don't pretend to say that is what's happening with hourglass app, but at least I would be more comfortable with some JW references.
  6. I agree, most of the information is irrelevant, namely the hours and literature placed. My problem, is when it includes information such as addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses; if it is elder, or sm, other sheep or anointed, baptism date, and so on. All information present in the publisher card in the congregation. I know that in the case of Dropbox or other cloud companies, they have safeguards to prevent the access to the information from the employees. In this case I don't know the software publisher and his intentions. That's why question and my reserves. Enviado do meu iPad usando o Tapatalk
  7. Hi João My concern results on the fact that I believe the information is not stored in the secretary computer but on the cloud. Because the app runs as a cloud web service.
  8. I would like to know if someone here in the forum knows this app, HOURGLASS The link is http://www.hourglass-app.com/ The secretary of our congregation is discussing the possibility of using this app in order to help publishers in reporting in the end of the month and also his work compiling information. It seems to have very interesting functionalities, nevertheless my main concern is related with data confidentiality. Anybody knows these brothers? How safe is the system? Thanks for your help.
  9. Most probably the diferent html pages contents are not fully translated. It happened before.Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Tapatalk
  10. I have it installed in my iPad and also on my iPhone and I don't detect any problems, even with equipd. Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Tapatalk
  11. I'm not tottally sure about the question made by brother Fernando, but what I assume is that he was intending to highlight and make notes in the text links found in the watchtower epub files. In reality,Sister Elizabeth on android devices you are right, apparently there isn't any limitation on highlithing or making notes on epub text links. Because brother Fernando posed this problem, I assume he was not using any android device. On the other hand, on Apple devices, namely on iBooks it is necessary to edit the epub file and change the "content.opf" parameter in order to highlight or make notes on bible texts. On the microsoft windows devices, I'm not completly sure. For instance in the Bible Reader app there are cases where you can make notes, and others where you can't. I believe it depends on the app. Probably brother Fernando have to explain which platform he is using and if he is intending to highlight and make notes in the text links found in the epub files or it is another thing he is pretending.
  12. Brother Fernando In reality each epub file is a set of htlm files compressed. If you simply want to open the jw sourced epub files to make notes and highlighting, then follow these steps: 1- download sigil (an html editor), it can be the portable version in http://portableapps.com/apps/office/sigil-portable 2- open the epub file in sigil 3- locate the "content.opf" 4- delete the tag "linear=no" as the following picture Then save the file (obviously) I hope this help to answer your question.
  13. The official explanation for brother Splane visit to the Portuguese branch is a new arrangement where bethel families received shepherding visits from representatives of the Governing Body. Nevertheless, if the revised version of the new world translation is not announced during the visit, we still expect new and exciting news.
