    Hi Matthew,
I thought that was wonderful how the brothers expressed trust in you! You are obviously doing very well. ⭐

You kindly sharing with us what happened to you made me think about something that I hope encourages you. Did you know that there are some elders who hardly do anything and some who do nothing at all for the congregation? That may sound weird or bad but let me explain. There are elders that are serving in various parts of the world who are considered “Infirm Elders”. Either due to age related issues or a severe physical or mental illness. Such elders can either no longer handle their assignments or can barely handle 1 small assignment. Yet they are not considered “disqualified”!  But If this was a secular job, the majority of all companies would force such a person to retire or even fire them for not being able to perform their assigned work. But our compassionate organization reflects our “Father of tender mercies” (2Co 1:3).

So in Jehovah’s eyes and in the eyes of our organization, those infirm elders are still “qualified”! The next time you get a chance to look again at the qualifications for MS, try to find any qualifications that say how much of a load an MS is expected to carry or how many assignments an MS should be able to handle.  There are none! Those qualifications are only based on spirituality and high moral standards.

So my encouragement to you is this:
If you do have a desire to serve as an MS, express this to Jehovah. Then allow Jehovah and His elders to determine if you are qualified. Express your desire to serve to the elders along with any concerns you have about your health and how limited you may be. If the elders tell you that you have qualified, then our compassionate Father will use His Spirit to help your Body of Elders and they will compassionately discuss with you which assignments or roles you feel you could assist with.

I mentioned the word “assist” because when a new MS was appointed and assigned to a department I was responsible for, I would always initially assign the new MS to “assist” another MS who had experience and training in that role. The new MS may have been very healthy and may have had no problems handing an assignment on his own, but to initially work together with a fellow MS is beneficial for so many reasons! But I mention this because your 1st assignment as an MS may be to assist in a department where there is already 1 or more MS. Then there is no pressure on you, you don’t have to worry if you become sick, there are other brothers glad to assist. Here is a personal example.

When I was asked to give a Memorial Talk I spent many months working very hard to try and put together a talk that honored our Father & Jesus and would be very encouraging to all who attended. After many months, I finally finished the talk 1 week before the Memorial, then guess what?

My health worsened and I was not going to be able to give the talk!
    But guess what?
Every year 2 brothers are assigned the Memorial Talk, 1 brother backs up the other in case of an accident or health issue. So the Memorial Talk went very well because I called the brother backing me up and asked him if could give the talk and he did a real good job!
When I had to hand over that assignment/talk to another brother because of my health, yes I was sad and I felt I had let Jehovah down. But none of my fellow elders felt like I did, they were just supportive and encouraged me.  This helped me to understand that I didn’t let Jehovah down nor was he disappointed in me. And that experience taught me a lot about what true “modesty” is, being aware of my limitations and doing what was best for the congregation.

Here is an outstanding scripture that has helped me and will help any brother wanting to reach out and serve his brothers and sisters but is very concerned/worried about his health limitations. This is Jehovah’s loving viewpoint.
And here is how I would apply this verse to Matthew:

A lot of stars are lonely and depressed. Many celebs commit suicide. They are surrounded by fans, sycophants and fame, but not family or authentic friendships.

I think he's become more reflective of himself as he's gotten older, as a younger man is was very immature and haughty.  I don't like his music myself, but he came out with a song which is all about criticising himself for his past actions and attitude. I can respect that at least.

That's the most similar I remember. It doesn't say we should not give witness in social media, only that we should be careful when we contact an interested person from a country where our work is banned.
