This was my reaction, too.

Some people who turn to violence are reacting out of feeling oppressed and they don't know the way out. Their heart is good, they just don't see what the best way forward is.  The road to Hell is paved in good intentions.

Bumping and pinning this so we can continue the discussion now that he's released 2 other novels.

There were a few other typos I saw.  I thought later that I wish I had marked them in Moon Reader.  He could easily fix these issues for the electronic edition.  Funny how I can't see my own typos, however (shut up Musky).
 
10 years ago I would have said this story matched my idea of the Tribulation and Armageddon.  Now, not so much.  I don't think it's just my "ego" or my attitude that I have to be different from everyone else.  It's just my own personal observations about life, how I've felt about certain things over the years and my understanding (or lack thereof) of the related scriptures has caused me to rethink how I picture events unfolding.
 
Having said that, I've been impressed and pleased with a lot of this book.  I wonder how much research he did.  The location descriptions get rather detailed.  I also appreciate his balanced (in my opinion) concept of the New World.  Poison ivy will still itch, legs will still break.  People can still panic.  I've had a conversation (maybe more than one) with a sister who feels that we won't have any accidents or such things in the New System.

Is the narrator's wife named Stephanie or Emma?  I've seen both.  In the chapter about the shark, she's called Stephanie.  The very next chapter, she's Emma.

Movies are a conscience matter.  We should never go on a social media site and ask if we should or should not choose a particular form of entertainment that is not clearly in violation of Bible standards. 
 
We could ask about the content of a movie.  If it has particular themes, etc...  That is what our movie section is for. 
 
We can ask you viewpoint questions that would help you make your own choice based upon your own conscience and understanding of Bible principles.  In this case I would ask you that, since you already feel part 2 or the sequel would violate conscience, then why would you think the first part would be appropriate for you? 
 
If we make the decision for you, then you will never grow. Your faith will not be your own, but it will be based on other peoples faith, people who may or may not have as strong a conscience as you have. 
 
The Governing Body will never make a list of movies we should or should not watch.  We should follow their example. 

There is non-human biological material all over the Earth. It's on every continent and every climate.

Just let your conscience be your guide. Hollywood movies are made first and foremost to make money and entertain. They are primarily concerned with education or accuracy. Being shocked that a movie from the world gets the bible wrong is like being shocked water is wet or that fire burns. Still, it always shocking when movies like Noah get things SO wrong.
It is all up to your conscience and some movies like Charleton Heston's 10 Commandments are classics. Bur the deeper in the end we get, the worse movies will get. Even so called biblical movies.

Tim, don't let the glitz and glamor blind you.  They may have been famous at one time (or are still famous for their past accomplishments) but it's not like spiritually mature Witnesses actively seek fame and glory.  
 
Hope said it nicely.  They may still be involved in the music industry, but they are no longer seeking stardom.  There are too many negative influences and pitfalls for a mature Christian to continue to live the lifestyle of a music star.  
 
Here is the thoughts from a former athlete, an NHL hockey player, who became a Witness. He's not in the music industry, but the sentiment is no doubt the same.

I bet the average length of the segments will be under an hour.  I would not be surprised if we end up with 20 parts minimum. If the average segment is 20 minutes long, that's 50  parts! 
 
How long have each segment of the live action dramas been?  

Yeah, I read that (or a similar article). I always hope things like this will wake honest-hearted ones still in these churches will take this as an opportunity to find Jehovah.

The Psalmist, about 3,000 years ago, said it would be "just a little while longer."

Nearly 2,000 years ago Paul said the time left was reduced and that the day has drawn near.  
 
In all 3 scriptures above the Bible, God's word, indicated the end was, shall we say, imminent.  These aren't the words or speculations of a bunch of men.  These are God's own inspired instructions. We should not get mad, upset, or stumbled because the Faithful Slave is following the same pattern as the Bible in expressing how close the end of the system is.

They don't.  They are not prophets. They do not know what future events will happen when with any more certainty than you or I. 
 
There is no scriptural reason and no Watchtower article to conclude the GB, the FDS, will receive such advanced divine revelations.
