  1. My ultimate favorite----Ghirardelli's milk chocolate. They used to make those huge (20 pound?) bars, then broke up the pieces to be sold separately. They no longer do that. They have made changes into what is sold now, ver hard to find the milk chocolate now. I go against the grain, I don't like dark chocolate at all. Other favorites, Baby Ruth's and Snickers. One other thing that I can munch one after the other is Tootsie Pops.
  2. The events taking place in the reading are according to the Jewish way of keeping time which was sunset to sunset, thereby the difference you noted. In keeping with Biblical/prophetic history, our present day reading would need to reflect the accurate accounting of what actually happened then. It really makes it more real as we read and picture in our minds eye putting ourselves in the midst of the account. The other notation was that we make a concentrated effort to offer Bible studies. I agree, we should all be doing that at each opportunity we encounter or initiate. To me, it shows how loving the brothers who care for are. It's a good reminder of what our preaching is about, with the goal of teaching thru Bible studies. One thing I appreciated about this, is that when this calendar is printed with these corrections in other languages along with making it known to us, we really are in full unity. The brothers are careful to rectify such things, not being secretive or shrink back but are very open to inform all affected by means of letters and announcements when corrections are in order so we can have full confidence that no matter how big or how small it is, we are all being fed the exact same thing worldwide. How awesome is that?
  3. The two "misprints" between the calendar and the daily text were on Friday, April 3. The reading is split. Matt. 26:17-19 and Luke 22:7-13 for daytime events. Then Matt. 26:20-56 after sunset. The calendar puts the reading all together. Same mistake on Sunday, April 5. The reading should be daytime: Matt. 27:62-66, after sunset Matt. 28:2-4. At least this is what is shown in my copies of the 2015 calendar and the 2015 Examining the Scriptures Daily. The other announcement regarding the calendar was that Saturdays are marked "Offer Magazines" which now we are to offer Bible Studies.
  4. I'm in the process of making a handwritten list of the videos so far, haven't gotten to the streaming broadcasts, so I can keep some kind of track as to what I've watched. I'm almost done with the written list. I've watched more than half of what's offered (excluding any video available that I previously have viewed on DVD or VHS--tho' I plan on going back to rewatch all those again. In my top 3 favorites, Faith in Action-Part 1).
  5. We haven't gotten ours yet. I use mine for theocratic events and the like. I hang mine by my bedside.
  6. I was blown away by the report saying how drastic the difference in snow accumulation was within just a few miles. 3.5 inches to over 4 feet in a matter of approx. 3 miles. (I've since read some reports are saying 5 miles.) Even in conditions such as there, I really long to be back in the cold weather and snow. I just where I belong, not in the desert.
  7. I go cycles with the show, watching and not watching. Tho' I can't imagine anyone but Alex Trebeck hosting (much like The Price Is Right with Bob Barker or The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson). I don't know much about much but enough that playing at home, I could've won millions!
  8. I went thru a streak of those McDonald's chocolate chip cookies. (Just had to make my own oatmeal-walnut-chocolate chip cookies. Yum.)
  9. LOL!!! Now until I started getting into quilting, I didn't know that you can make quilts from ties. And old tee shirts, and old jeans.
  10. So what is it that you just can't seem to leave a store without? Ever since I was younger I always liked to collect something. Never anything that was costly, professional or out of control. I used to collect marbles, Hot Wheels cars, baseball cards, little trinkets and souveniers from places I visited, 45's (remember those??), makeup. Then for awhile it was postcards. Then playing cards, pens, markers, highlighters, notepads, magnets. About 8 years ago I wanted to learn how to quilt. Wasn't ever much above a novice sewer and crafter, but when I got into a fabric/quilt shop, uh-oh! Then I worked in a fabric store. Ah, the happiness. I still collect, with projects in mind. For now I have my pictures of my sewing room as all my things are in storage until we move. How about you?
  11. Funny, when the three kids were growing up there was an ongoing evolution of dishes. Now, I'm stuck. Can't figure what I feel like making, have trouble coming up with more variety and even remembering what I used to make. Hubby would be happy for life if meals were a slab of meat, pile of potatoes, with a salad or veggie. So, I'll live vicariously thru some posts here and hopefully trip some creativity for me too. I don't have an adventurous palette but I can always modify ingredients I don't eat. Well, go ahead......what's for dinner tonight for you?
  12. Pepsi-holic. I even have a miniature replica of a state license plate that says exactly that on my keychain. I never got into coffee, I'm strictly there for cold caffeine year round, tho' I'm slowing down with it.
  13. I don't even think I have the correct title of the talk CO. Bro. Macfarland, Las Vegas. Sorry, it was like 2 years ago---where does the time go? I'll have to look up what bit of notes I do have to share and see if that may ring a few more bells. Thanks Al!
  14. It may be that the lisitng was a "Buy Now" or a non bidding item. I do understand what you are expressing tho'.
  15. Oh how I wish someone had a recording of a talk given by my old CO this past year. He used some charts it chronicled the history of our revised edition back directly to the scrolls used in Jesus' day and back into the earliest writings of the prophets of old. It was ablsolutely fascinating. I have limited notes as it progressed quickly as well as covered the distinction of versions VS translations. If anyone heard this, has notes or (hold my breath) a recording I beg you to please share it with me if you can.
