  1. If you're going to OKC beware of the heat. Its been over 100F every day for weeks.
  2. My result was: This is pretty accurate. I did move around a lot growing up. I was born in Hawaii and lived in Ohio, New Hampshire, Illinois, New Mexico and even over the 'pond' in Bicester, Great Britain for a time. Now I live in Oklahoma with plans to move to the west coast of the US.
  3. I found it by Google-ing the words "Spider Web Afghan" then looking through the images to find the picture that matched yours. That took me to the pattern in less than 15 seconds. Perhaps you just needed to change your search terms to find it. That pattern is a free one from Red Heart Yarn Co. called Lacy Web Throw You can find the pattern in full at http://www.favecrafts.com/Crochet-Afghans/Lacy-Web-Throw-from-Red-Heart-Yarn# *if you get a pop-up at that site, click the words "Close" in the top corner. You do NOT need to provide your email address at all.
  4. I found out a few things on them and I included hyperlinks to the source of this information. You can find more on the internet. The Illuminati was a secret society in Bavaria in the late 18th century. They had a political agenda that included republicanism and abolition of monarchies, which they tried to institute by means of subterfuge, secrecy, and conspiracy, including the infiltration of other organizations. They fancied themselves to be "enlightened" but they had little success and were destroyed within fifteen years of their origin (Pipes 1997). Paranoid conspiracy theorists (PCTs) believe the Illuminati cabal still exists, either in its original form or as a paradigm for later cabals. Many PCTs believe "that large Jewish banking families have been orchestrating various political revolutions and machinations throughout Europe and America since the late eighteenth century, with the ultimate aim of bringing about a satanic New World Order." (The Skeptics Dictionary) The Illuminati (plural of Latin illuminatus, "enlightened" ) is a name given to several groups, both real (historical) and fictitious. Historically the name refers to the Bavarian Illuminati, an Enlightenment-era secret society founded on May 1, 1776. In more modern contexts the name refers to a purported conspiratorial organization which is alleged to mastermind events and control world affairs through governments and corporations to establish a New World Order. In this context the Illuminati are usually represented as a modern version or continuation of the Bavarian Illuminati. (Wikipedia)
  5. And when you've finished removing your foot from your mouth so you can eat your words, Im sure we'd all like to see a picture of your shiny pate.
  6. If the ancient Greek philosopher Diogenes were to go out with his lantern in search of an honest man today, a survey of Wall Street executives on workplace conduct suggests he might have to look elsewhere. A quarter of Wall Street executives see wrongdoing as a key to success, according to a survey by whistleblower law firm Labaton Sucharow released on Tuesday. In a survey of 500 senior executives in the United States and the UK, 26 percent of respondents said they had observed or had firsthand knowledge of wrongdoing in the workplace, while 24 percent said they believed financial services professionals may need to engage in unethical or illegal conduct to be successful. Sixteen percent of respondents said they would commit insider trading if they could get away with it, according to Labaton Sucharow. And 30 percent said their compensation plans created pressure to compromise ethical standards or violate the law. "When misconduct is common and accepted by financial services professionals, the integrity of our entire financial system is at risk," Jordan Thomas, partner and chair of Labaton Sucharow's whistleblower representation practice, said in a statement. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/many-wall-st-execs-says-050334637.html

  8. Wikipedia has a nice list of mathematical symbols that can be used for reference. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mathematical_symbols
  9. In what both sides described as a momentous ruling, a jury in Oakland, Calif., has found that Jehovah’s Witnesses was partly responsible for the alleged sexual abuse of a girl by one of its members and must pay her more than $20 million. http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/06/15/12225753-jehovahs-witnesses-ordered-to-pay-more-than-20-million-to-woman-who-said-she-was-sexually-abused?lite
  10. I wouldnt put too much stock in what this 'news' site says. The original story was published by WND.com at http://www.wnd.com/2012/06/chariots-in-red-sea-irrefutable-evidence/ The author of the article Joe Kovacs, is as the site says "author of the forthcoming book (out July 17), "The Divine Secret: The Awesome and Untold Truth About Your Phenomenal Destiny", as well as the No. 1 best-seller "Shocked by the Bible: The Most Astonishing Facts You've Never Been Told," " and as such is not a trustworthy source of news for true Christians. I am pretty sure that you will never find the Society quoting from him. As soon as the author mentioned 'archaeologist' Ron Wyatt, who was not an archaeologist at all but rather a nurse-anesthetist who is infamous for his pseudo-archaeology such as finding Noah's Ark, Christ's 'blood', the site of the crucifixion, and other 'biblical finds', I knew that it had to be bunk. Read more about Ron Wyatt here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Wyatt I would be interested in whether there is some connection between the author and this Michael Rood, (a so-called Hebrew-roots teacher but who operates his own 'ministries') in which the author would receive payment for advertising the DVD that the article talks about.
  11. I take that back. I've heard the one below but I found a version of it online for you. ******************************************* A sister (working by herself for some reason), knocks on the door of a killer or rapist to offer the good news. She makes her presentation and talks for some time with the man, gives him some literature and leaves. As she is leaving, a patrol car passes by the house and recognizes the man as a suspect they have been looking for. The officers jump out and arrest the man on the spot. As they are on their way to the precinct, one officer asks the man why he didn't attack the woman who was talking to him. The man's reply........? "How could I when she had those two large men standing there with here!"
  12. Oh wow. I never heard the one about kicking a dog but I did hear about the smurf doll legend. That one I heard about in 1987 when I attended a KH in Alamogordo, NM. I guess that story made the rounds. I wish I could recall if I had heard any others.
