Problem with Ubuntu 17:04

I have been using Ubuntu 17.04 and using the software updater to download ...the message I am now receiving is Failed to download repository information...no internet connection. the thing is I am able to use Chrome and Firefox with no problem...any suggestions...Someone told me to stick with this 17.04 and get the downloads...but now this problem. Thank you Paulofeastman
