  1. As a servant of God, I find that I can try to manage my anxiety by focusing on a task located high up on my procrastinator's shelf. Other ways, especially when I give up on yet another task, include letter writing. I enjoy letter writing. Doing so has a calming effect, an upbuilding sense of purpose, with the reward that I am doing more for others than for myself. From our 2016 years WT, https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2016922#h=24:228-34:0 there lists some excellent ways to manage what cannot disappear. I am grateful to have a helper who daily provides these fine topics which benefit us all! Don't you agree? Throw All Your Anxiety on Jehovah The Watchtower (Study) (2016)
  2. I'm glad we began considering JESUS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE publication for our Book study. It's gonna be a fine read.

WoWee Renee I love your words and story on how you came into the Truth! I love being at home and really enjoy being alone at times. One brother mentioned that we will be reading our new study book until Oct 2020. It will be a wonderful time!

  3. Well I found 27 and that's better than nothing at all. I refuse to look at the answers till I find three more..so there!
  4. I got spattered all over the place so I sure didn't leave MY name!
  5. Looks like you're in a pickle Bob. Moms never consider how we as Witnesses (and they're not) feel. All they will ever know is the labor pain they endured while bringing us into the world and for this, if they want to sing the dreaded "Happy Birthday" song, they will always feel its their right to do so and of course she will be right. You better start composing that letter! She will feel validated and think she's won. You however will always have your knowledge of how this song is meaningless to you regardless of who sings it. We go through life cringing over the worldly salutations given us yet we take a deep breath and endure because we know as you have maturely pointed out; "This to shall pass" Let it pass Bob! send the card will ya? ><
  6. What you may also know is that there is a email circulating saying a Facebook account holder is sending people( they call them friends; :-[ ) a message saying they should check out a particular picture and if the receiver does this, their Computer is instantly infected with a Parahna type Trojan that eats all of your files and destroys the hard drive. This is the type of 'Friends' one can meet on Facebook and its almost impossible to weed them out. I am so fortuante to have been invited into this family of True Friends where I know I'm safe from the vicious world of people who think nothing of trying to destroy your means of communication, if only for one night. It's reciprocal of the way Satan slitthers into our lives. His crafty acts and crude macinations are his way of trying to gain control of one of our ways of trying to connect with Real Friends trying to enjoy whats left of this wicked system. I know there has been talk of charging for the right to post on its book but so far that's all its been. Like one commenter said earlier, and to paraphrase, who really cares what they do with that book, we are where we need to be as opposes to where we want, if only for a moment. I just read the follwoing message from a fellow Facebookite message and I quote; " VIRUS ON FACEBOOK CBS JUST REPORTED THAT THERE IS A VIRUS ON FACEBOOK...IT COMES IN THE FORM OF AN EMAIL CLAIMING TO BE FROM FACEBOOK WITH AN ATTACHMENT ASKING TO CHANGE PASSWORD...ONCE PASSWORD IS CHANGED THE COMPUTER HAS A VIRUS IN WHICH ALL PERSONAL INFO CAN BE ACCESSED...THEY SAID THAT IT SHOULD BE DELETED IF ANYONE GETS THE EMAIL...PASS THE WORD ON!!! " this is getting more weird each day!!!

How I Found the Truth

  • How I found the Truth
My eldest Sister became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in the late 70's. I saw how much she wanted to allow Jehovah's word to mold her into the person she has become. The entire immediate family was astounded to the point that I began wanting to learn what she had excepted, had made the changes in her life which I knew were very difficult for her to make. I felt in time, I may want to give it a try. It took twenty years for me to want to allow this to become a part of my life. I wanted to learn about our creator, see if he would want me, love me, protect me and provide for me. I felt if his word was true, if he kept his promises to me, I would not turn back. I saw this transformation become a reality for my Sister and felt it she had the desire, the determination, and faith to stick it out, that was an example I could follow. I used her as a role model to cling on to a living soul who also was my fleshly sibling, She had a wild and crazy life prior to studying and as my idol, I modeled my worldly life after her only better.
Well, I'd had enough! I sat down, prayed to Jehovah, who's name I was sure of, and I will never forget me asking Jehovah to show me how to come to him, guide; my eyes to be able to see what I needed to see, me ears to be able to hear what I needed to hear, and my mouth to be able to the words I needed to say, in order to be pleasing to him. I will never forget that right after I asked for this, I opened my bible to Mathew 6: and my eyes found verse 25. I read to the end. I knew this was my answer. That Jehovah had guided my eyes, ears and now with my mouth I was reading aloud. I made up my mind to take a serious stand for Jehovah. I was ready to let him guide me from that moment on. That was in 1996. After some weeks of accepting this, I called my/our Sister and told her of my experience and ended with me asking her to put me in touch with the elderly brother who was like a spiritual father figure to her. He came to my place, we talked and he help me appreciate the sower of the seeds. I then asked him if the elderly Sister, who would sit in, throughout those twenty years of my being unsure, on my studies, was still attending the same congregation. He said yes, I said, "Please, will you ask her if she would study with me"? He did, we arranged the date/times and I never looked back. I even increased the amount of days per week to three! I was look at as a progressive Bible student.

"Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
