My droid phone just upgraded to Nougut 26.26.14. I think it started out with kernel...then lollipop...don't remember the 'm' system update, if there even was one.
Wonder how much further into the alphabet my MaxxII will last?

Thanks, Brother Vinnie!
I remember 'marshmallow', now.
The latest upgrade to nougat allows for split screen use...but the split screen doesn't work following the drag and drop instructions that came with the upgrade instructions.
The app menu is now accessed by pulling up the dark band on the very bottom of the main screen...the dark band which totally wrecks my sunrise live wallpaper that I paid a buck ninety-nine for.
Two features I don't want and never asked for.
I keep my screen brightness on low to save the battery.
I would have asked for automatic switch of screen brightness from inside to outside. In daylight, you can't see anything on your screen. You have to 'blindly' scroll around for the brightness control bar and hope that you can find it in time.
I'm gonna check my droid tablet and see if it is 'upgrading' to oreo...

Most manufacturers don't support a device for more than a year or two now, which can be dangerous due to unpatched security flaws. Motorola (now owned by Lenovo) is apparently still pretty good about it, I've considered some of their phones. I doubt they'll bring your's to Oreo however, as Nougat is already over a year old. I wish Nvidia would make a phone, they've supported their Shield Tablet from KitKat to Lollipop to Marshmallow to Nougat.
