  1. Been a great day, didn't go in service had some stuff to take care of. Service tomorrow after meeting definitely.

  2. morning started out hectic. Was going in service and then everything kept coming up. I did make it out and enjoyed the morning very much.

WTG.. Satan has a way of making things chaotic when we want to be doing what we should do for Jehovah.. so it's awesome you were able to make it despite the hectic morning..

  3. I have been married 3 years and I don't know what my husband did before I came along. The man can't find anything and it will be right on top of things. Yes, I do move things sometimes but I will tell him where it is and he still can't find it. I think he's doing it just to see if I actually know where it is.
  4. We are doing our DC invitations now and people have been for the most part pretty nice, but we started in a different town that would be closer to the DC city. We started in my home town for the memorial and I have never been treated so bad. In one morn, I had 4 rude refusals, I just couldn't believe people could be so mean to someone they don't even know. It almost scared me to go to the next house because people were so mean but I did it anyway.
  5. I don't know about everyone else but this song always brings tears to my eyes. It is a great song for childrent to learn.
  6. Kim, I will let you know about the booth. Of course it is winter now and they stopped doing the booth but come spring we are going to do it, I actually can't wait. As far as home-schooling we have decided to allow her to do it. We have set up service days and she knows that this is her schedule whether her dad makes it out or not, (I have daycare so I can't go out during the day at this time). She knows what she has to do and is very excited about it. She may take a vocational class for 3 hours a day next year just to help her out for getting a part-time job. It is looking great for her. Will keep you posted.
  7. Thanks Lynne, I take on line classes at Penn Foster and love it so I may check them out too.
  8. Thank you Angela for your words. It isn't easy having teenagers and watching them deal with problems of school. this is actually my step-daughter, all of my children graduated, the most recent one in May of this year. I seen everything they went through and now none of them are coming to the meetings. I am trying to look at what I can do different. She is a bright girl so I know she will excel at whatever she does.
  9. Thanks Angela, we are visiting other congregations for service. One congregation is 60 miles away but we are making arrangements with a pioneer family of 5, their youngest is 14 and she has been pioneering for 2 years. We are going to go to another congregation 30 miles away twice a month for phone witnessing in the evening and then when it starts getting warm again we are going to join them for having a witness booth at wal-mart. Hopefully with the association she will always be wanting to serve Jehovah.
  10. My daughter is a sophomore in high school and has expressed the desire to home school. She is a straight A student but we have discussed this because of the influences in school. She is so excited to get started. My problem is I don't know where the best place is to go for her books. One of the things we have discussed is that she will have to expand her ministry also. If anyone can give me ideas on do's and dont's and where to get info on it I would really appreciate it, this is a big risk and I want her to be able to graduate. Thanks for any help.
  11. I live in MO and I was in bed but my son came in to tell me he felt it. Of course it wasn't extreme but it was still felt here.
  12. thank you loved this idea, always knew there was a use for them other than binoculars for kids.lol
  13. Sounds like you live in a nice place. It reminded me of the illustration the brother that gave the Sunday talk gave.. You go on vacation to the Adirondack (not sure if it is spelled right) mountains, everything is beautiful and calm and so relaxing, you go fishing, you sit by the pond. Nice hotel room, It is just like being in paradise but you locked your car doors, hid anything of value under the seats, when you got to your hotel room you locked the door behind you. It is so nice to be able to go somewhere to relax but it is sad you have to take every precaution to protect yourself, your family and your belongings. How wonderful it is going to be to actually be in paradise and feel safe.
  14. We sat up tables with notepads and pens and asked ones in the congregation to bring games. We played uno and skip-bo also scrabble and scattegories were huge successes. There is also a game where you pass this ball around and answer the question on it before time runs out (forgot what it is called) Most really enjoyed it. You want games that don't take a long time to explain how to play or take a long time to play. You also may want some easy games so the children can play..
