  1. https://www.wsj.com/articles/saudi-arabia-iran-restore-relations-in-deal-brokered-by-china-406393a1?siteid=yhoof2&yptr=yahoo Interesting. China has brokered an agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia. It's interesting to watch the different governments jockey into positions, changing alliances, wheeling and dealing, but regardless, they'll all end up on the wrong side in the war of the great day of Jehovah. It's so comforting to know we don't need to rely on these people.
  2. I agree with that, even though the spelling of deelboge is a bit different, but I was wondering about the entire post that involves personal information. Our hearts ache for our brothers and sisters who have gone through this trauma. Many want to know more, but I know we need to be cautious about what we share. I believe the brothers here have accurate information and sharing would be out of concern and love, not titillation or gossip. I just don't want to overstep. 😬
  3. I see no problem in saying "Brother, you were so thoughtful in buying me a gift. It really touched my heart. I like it for its own classy beauty but I find that it just doesn't work for me. I have never been comfortable wearing large watches. I've tried. Now, what I'd like you to do is take back this beautiful watch (but not the love that came with it, I'll keep that) and find someone who will truly enjoy this watch. When you give it again as a gift I feel like I'm sharing in the gift giving too. It's a win-win all around. Let's help the watch find its rightful owner."
  4. And, adding to that story.....what I found so cute was that this new sister already was learning Cantonese! She said "Jehovah made her do it". Because there was such a large Chinese population in her area, she often needed to rely on a RV to translate for her over the phone. She would hand the householder a note in Chinese with the RV's number who would then mediate. The problem was the RV worked in a restaurant and they would often interrupt her there. Once our sister ordered a few Bibles in Chinese and an entire case was sent to her congregation accidentally. An anointed brother told her to pay attention to the leanings of Holy Spirit. She started learning the language (all the Bibles got placed as well) it was beautiful that she would meet a brother who had spent years in the missionary work in Hong Kong. They made a good team and had many Bible studies in Cantonese.
  5. Thank you for the link. I was able to get in and leave a message of thanks in the chat and listen to a sister read Psalm 94:14. Antoinette was in her bed asleep with her mama next to her. The recording of this zoom meeting will be a beautiful memento for Antoinette's family and fun for our little sister to read when she returns if it survives. I then left to make room for those waiting to come on. There are chat rooms too but I didn't stay.
  6. Well, there it is....90 seconds to midnight. The closest it's ever been. Mankind is scared, rightly so. https://thebulletin.org/doomsday-clock/current-time/
  7. I’m sure you intended to say 59 seconds, not minutes. Being under a minute will scare a lot of people since they assume scientists know so much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Some people take themselves too seriously when it comes to being called on...They may have a good comment but where is the humility that Jehovah treasures even more? Recently our conductor called on someone who answers fairly often and then he spotted a new hand. He said "wait, let me call on Sis XXX" then he said "Psych!" The American friends may recognize this bit of a tease. It's like saying "Ha ha, the jokes on you". It's a little casual but we are a tight knit congregation and our elder saying "psych!" totally cracked us up.
  9. Besides that, we already know the anointed aren't going to die of old age. The last ones will be taken up.
  10. I'm glad you mentioned this. It is the first thing I thought. So many celebrities are forced to put up a wall of protection even from their fans. Many become crazy stalkers or some want to own a piece of them like a piece of their clothing. Many celebrities have to hire body guards for themselves and their families. When someone is sheltered like that it is almost impossible for us to reach them. (although I'm curious whether the letter writing did better) Not only does our new sister have access to people, perhaps some of her fans will now take a closer look at her spiritual life. I would think that any well adjusted celebrity knows how to keep their private life separate from their public life but perhaps she will capitalize on her situation to give a witness.
  11. I find it typical. In the tour at the Met in NY we were shown that Satan was aware of the promise of an offspring coming from the woman (Gen 3:15) and all down through the ages he has presented an alternative fulfillment of that scripture. Many mother/son dieties but the most glaring, Mary (the woman) and baby Jesus (the Offspring) and look at how they have then been venerated in painting, sculptures etc...Not the scriptural application, but an example of Satan stealing from Jehovah. Another example? The rainbow. A symbol of Jehovah's promise to mankind is now a symbol of perversion. Satan is a thief with no original thoughts.
  12. Here in Northern California USA it was chilly but sunny and dry. We got three hours in cart work today!
  13. Four of us sisters went to NY in October, 2018. It was amazing. I swear we had an angelic tour guide part of the time because if we got turned around in a subway someone would say "you look lost, may I help?" When we visited Central Park a nice lady volunteered to give us a tour and took pictures of the four of us. She wouldn't even take a tip, saying she loved the park and this was her way of giving back. We stayed in Brooklyn through Booking.com Our Hotel was within walking distance to the Subway and we got a pass and used that to go everywhere in the city. Our tours were arranged through Oasisbiblicaltours.com and we LOVED the Met tours and the Golden Triangle tour of Headquarters. The tours to the headquarters had us meet at a restaurant and then board buses. We took an Uber to get to the restaurant. We had thought about renting a car but this way we didn't need to deal with traffic or parking and the bus was filled with brothers. Sometimes we felt rushed but the tours are time limited so driving there wouldn't mean we could spend all day in one location. We saw Central Park, The Empire State Building,we took a ferry to Staten Island, visited the old Bethel facilities in Brooklyn, The Ross Building? Coney Island where we ate Nathan's hot dogs on the beach, and we ate Junior's cheesecake! We hit almost all things on our bucket list and got to know the city pretty well. If we'd had time we would have taken the tour to Washington DC that originates in NY and see the Smithsonian and the Holocaust museums. Now the Museum of the Bible is open and that's included in that tour. Saving money for a trip never works for me. I have a rough budget, save on housing and flights, but I use my credit card and enjoy! I pay it off when I get home. I love the idea of a BNB and staying a month. Much more relaxed and time to attend some local meetings. We're planning another trip to NY. The Woman and Her Offspring soon has an online tour that will whet your appetite for the in-person tour I'm sure. ENJOY! I'm excited for you.

How I Found the Truth

  • How I found the Truth
When I was nine I was home from school with rheumatic fever. A young pioneer brother, Richard Farr, came to our door. My mother got the “Paradise” book for me. I consumed it. I knew this was the truth. The brothers followed up and our parents started a study in the “Let God Be True” book. They started attending meetings with us six kids. I never had a personal study and really wished I had had a mentor to help direct me in my life choices but I was an avid student and I saw Jehovah’s hand throughout my life. I was baptized in 1970.

My Hobbies & Interests

  • My Interests
Children. Even teenagers! LOL I enjoyed being a wife. Keeping a clean home, cooking nice meals, teaching children. I also ran very successful businesses so I’ve been blessed to enjoy it all. I loved having a garden and canning food. I loved having farm animals. Everything is in the past now and I concentrate on pioneering and looking to the future.
  • My favorite books
I love history and that helps with Bible study but I enjoy history based events. Stephen Ambrose wrote about the Lewis and Clark expedition and contrasted Custer and Crazy Horse.
  • My favorite music
    Classic rock, blues, Mozart
  • My favorite movies
Gone with the wind, again, history based but well developed characters too.
  • My favorite quotes
Besides scripture? “If you want happiness for a lifetime, help the next generation”
