Old age can be challenging. Last friday, Sid and i were out scoping for rocks. Flat rocks for a walk way. 
I spot, he does the rest of the chore. Its something we enjoy.
I was on flat groud. I did not pay enough attention to where to put my feet. (I had my walking stick, um, in the truck) The ground was flat, with a big rock here and there. Somehowʼ i lost my balance, started to fall, but blocked myself. (Big mistake.) Friends, I sprained my hip! As in, “sometimes a sprain is worse then a break”. Sid found he could not carry me. He moved the truck as close to me as possible. And, eventually, i was able to get in the truck. 
But, i had to sit on the running board, (yes, we have one on the truck. It pops out when the door is opened. I sat on the running board, trying to catch my breathe, and was literally going in and out of consciousness, from the pain, as i sat there. 
Got me in the truck, and, off to the hospital, some 2 and 1/2 hour trip. 
I had mobility, but, very painful mobility. 
I seriously prayed my hip was not broken. Really bad news for an 80 year old youngster! 
An X-Ray and a CT scan later, nothing broken. My right leg was useless. We have crutches and a walker here at home. After falling a couple of times, i learned how to walk, sort of. 
I am healing. Dr. says it will be a month, and, i will be my old,(old, old) self. I can walk, sort of dragging my leg along. I can get up and down the stairs. I’m still in pain, but I feel it’s manageable. (They gave me all sorts if medications. For pain, muscle spams, and inflammation, etc)
Iʼve Zoomed a couple of meetings. And, plan to go Sunday. The spasms are gone. Now it hurts, for the most time, just when i move. 
Sid has been steller in taking care of meʼ, and doing everything in the house. I am being very good taken care of. And, i thank Jehovah for that fact. 
I am constantly challenging myself. I move around, and do what i can. One gets really weak, fast, not moving around. 
Watch out for falling, friends. I thought i was. Learned a lesson. I did.

an interesting development that im going to tell my grandkids 
the surgery went well, but now there is a new problem my hemoglobin had dropped to dangerous levels 
so yesterday i went to the hospital and they were very insistent on giving me a 
blood transfusion. i stud my ground and said no and the bro where there to
im home now and will be talking some hormones to bring up the blood count 

I fell asleep during the meeting today. Not nodded off. Went to sleep! A good half an hour. 
The WT Conductor came and checked on me. He said, “Good. I was worried about you being depressed”. 
Several came and made sure I was okay. No comments from Bea today. 
I was sitting next to a good friend. She said she got sleepy, and realized I was asleep, and had to stay awake to make sure I didn’t fall over. 
Know how you feel refreshed after a nap? I was that asleep! 
I’m thinking about old people. Yes, old people, and how I viewed them when I was younger. 
Curious. Here I am. Next. b’day, I will be 80. My memory is touch and go. I’ve lost some of my strength, but, I still can work hard in the garden, and outside. I don’t pick my feet up as I should. (We have stairs. They remind me once in a while.) 
And, wisdom? Got to think on that one?
(No, I did not snore. For which I’m thankful. I think my good friend would not have allowed that!

I have been thinking of my brothers and sisters in Canada and the US who are being affected by the terrible fires and subsequent smoke which is spreading so far and contaminating the air.

I have been blessed by Jehovah.  The announcement has been made that I got appointed a ministerial servant tonight.

well i ran out of my phosphorus medication and Medicare & Medicaid are debating with my doc. about it so it my be next week before I get more I need to stay away from beer and all dairy stuff soda and fruit that is high in phosphorus. High phosphorus and calcium levels also lead to dangerous calcium deposits in blood vessels, lungs, eyes, and heart. Over time this can lead to an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, or death.

Sadly my beloved fell & broke her hip on January 1st, and while the bloodless surgery went very well, and she had no illnesses or other critical conditions, she was frail and did not have the not have the depth of health & body reserves to allow her to recover. She passed away with her daughters by her side on Wednesday January 5, 2023 at about 6:30 am pacific time.
 
A memorial will be held on January 21, 2023 at 3:00 pm, with a video program beginning about 2:45 pm

Just got my homeworks for Elder school... my goodness, the anxiety  

In September I just had a 13 hours surgeries with 3 surgery a one time.Jehovah  was right there for me.I stayed in hospital for 1 and half months thanks to Jehovah I am doing much better,back home,back to letter writing and most of all still pioneering. Jehovah is awesome.The Best Life Ever

what i really want to know is ..... i have gray hair and wisdom teeth so............... when dose all this wisdom kick in

Good day or night friends.  I'm happy to pass on this good bit of news.  I've really learned patience thanks to Jehovah and his organization.  I had my privileges taken away pre covid for reasons I didn't 100% agree with, but, they are Jehovah's appointed servants.  I read about Mephibosheth and took his example to heart.  Well, I just got my privileges back, and I feel like Jehovah rewarded me for my patience.  My computer abilities are being used to the full, and, I'm being told that I might be more busy than some ministerial servants.  I've already been given a special project in the literature department, and I can even do cart witnessing despite it being reserved for the pioneers for now.  I'm helping run the software and they've told me that I need to be a good example and participate.  I get a lump in my throat thinking of how quickly my role changed in the congregation, which was an answer, maybe even too much of an answer, to my prayers.
