  1. As many of you know two of the Kingdom Halls in the Olympia, Lacey area in Washington state, burned down from arson and others in the area were targeted. One of the Kingdom Halls that burned down is being rebuilt and it's almost ready. It will begin being used in January.🙂
  2. What the Department of Justice has to say about it. Washington Man Charged with Hate Crime for Shooting and Damaging Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall | USAO-WDWA | Department of Justice
  3. One correction. I guess that he's only been charged with shooting up the Kingdom Hall in Yelm, WA. I thought that he was also charged with the arson of the same Kingdom Hall which happened not long after. Sorry for the mistake. He has also been charged with something related to a firearm. The shooting of the Kingdom Hall is being treated as a hate crime.
  4. Olympia man charged for 2018 Jehovah's Witness property shooting | king5.com He's been charged and indicted for two of the attacks. I don't think they have enough evidence for the other attacks. But he's facing up to 30 years in prison for two attacks (20yrs) and illegal possession of a firearm (10yrs). He's 50 years old as it is. If this system went on for 30 years, he'd be 80 by then.
  5. Chicago parish stands by popular pastor after latest abuse allegations (msn.com) Interesting how the church found him not guilty concerning not one but two victims a few years ago. And now they are supporting him along with church members after a third victim has come forward. They truly are blind.
  6. Vatican’s mishandling of high-profile abuse cases extends its foremost crisis (msn.com) They are also accused of not doing enough at present and of not following their own new guidelines. Examples are given in the article involving sexual abuse of minors and an adult.
  7. I changed my display name.  It was JW2017.

  8. Jehovah's Witness congregants working on rebuilding Olympia church destroyed in 2018 arson | king5.com Also, a suspect is in custody on an unrelated charge. An elder was saying this morning that the authorities are trying to build a case against him for the arson attacks on our Kingdom Halls, which would include hate crime charges.
  9. Knock, knock. Who’s there? The Jehovah’s Witnesses, at last (msn.com)
  10. Jehovah’s Witnesses returning to door knocking after 2 pandemic years off (msn.com) Positive article.
  11. Southern Baptists say denomination faces DOJ investigation (yahoo.com) I wonder if this will lead to more sex abusers being revealed than what appeared on the list the Church released.
  12. Church abuse survivors plead for answers amid probe (msn.com) When you think of child abuse from Catholic Church leaders you usually think of boys, but this article mentions female survivors.
  13. Well, if the CDC is correct, those other ways of getting it must be extremely rare. Second meeting of the International Health Regulations (2005) (IHR) Emergency Committee regarding the multi-country outbreak of monkeypox (who.int) 2.a. Implementing coordinated response 2.a.i. Implement response actions with the goal of stopping human-to-human transmission of monkeypox virus, with a priority focus on communities at high risk of exposure, which may differ according to context and include gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (MSM). Meeting of the International Health Regulations (2005) Emergency Committee regarding the multi-country monkeypox outbreak (who.int) Conclusions and advice The Committee noted that many aspects of the current multi-country outbreak are unusual, such as the occurrence of cases in countries where monkeypox virus circulation had not been previously documented, and the fact that the vast majority of cases is observed among men who have sex with men, of young age, not previously immunized against smallpox (knowing that vaccination against smallpox is effective in protecting against monkeypox as well). Some Members suggested that, given the low level of population immunity against pox virus infection, there is a risk of further, sustained transmission into the wider population that should not be overlooked. The Committee also stressed that monkeypox virus activity has been neglected and not well controlled for years in countries in the WHO African Region.
