  1. Does anyone else here us Deckhand/Lightbox for congregation activities? It has some great features but also some limitations. Developed by B&S working with LDC volunteers.
  2. I like gadgets and technology. And there are apps that I really like because it has incredible features or it helps me be more organize. Some of the apps I use on my (android) phone are: - Flow Productivity Launcher. It is a minimalist launcher. - Searchbar Ex. An app that can put the "search" feature from other website such as jw.org or wol, it will directly open the website. - Obsidian. This note-taking app have lots of features such as linking notes to other notes, checklist, bullet list, link, embedding video, and etc. - Oto Music. An offline music player that has a really good UI that looks Spotify. That are some of my favorite apps on my phone, what's yours? Share it here. 😄
  3. I am looking for an app that is an alternative to iTunes, for backing up my entire iPhone, the contacts, notes, apps, music, etc. There are a variety of apps that perform this function, but many reviews seem inconsistent or bias. So I was hoping some of my brothers/sisters know of an app that they would highly recommend. Or at least a good "contact manager" for backing up and formatting my contacts. I appreciate any suggestions, thanks.
  4. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/18/technology/personaltech/usb-warning-juice-jacking.html?algo=top_conversion&fellback=false&imp_id=217907509&imp_id=771727048&action=click&module=trending&pgtype=Article&region=Footer Nov. 18, 2019
  5. The first app is Fluid Navigation Gestures: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fb.fluid&hl=en Instead of navigation buttons it lets you use gestures. Why that is an advantage? Larger Screen. I am a large screen person. Every little inch makes a difference for me. They are more ergonomic. I have set the back button to be a gesture from right to left. That means I can do it with my thumb from any hight of the phone. This is one example out of many. You can do more. Previously there were 3 buttons. Home, back, muiltitasking. Long press home for Google assistant, long press muiltitasking for split screen and double tap multitasking for change to previous app. But now I can do all of these plus more. I can take a screenshot with a gesture and I can even launch another app. Which brings me to the second app The second app is Bottom Quick Settings: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tombayley.bottomquicksettings&hl=en Reaching the top of the device to open quick settings isn't ergonomic. So it makes sense to be on the bottom. Plus all of us have different tastes. The default quick settings of our device may not suit our needs. This app makes them super customizable. To the point you can even make the background semi transparent so you can continue watching a video while changing the volume. You can also change the volume with a slider. I always wanted to change the media volume of my device using quick settings and not have to press side buttons because sometimes side buttons are not comfortable. The best part is that I can launch BQS app using a gesture from FNG app. This is what makes this couple super useful. Try them out and the majority of you will find them useful. DISCLAIMER: Some of the useful features need to be activated using adb commands. This doesnt require you to root your device and ruin your warranty but it does require to connect the device to a PC and play with some commands. This is fairly advanced. It isn't difficult or long or time consuming.
  6. So a couple weeks ago I took Verizon's offer - 7" android based tablet... Ellipsis 7 Now I need help understanding and learning how best to use it. How do I know which apps are trustworthy in the JW field? There are so many? What will help with service info? tracking time, placements, RVs, etc. I do have JW Library and JW Language already and have been able to access all materials needed for meetings. Not sure how to underline/highlight points I'd like to remember or comment on. Not sure how to add on my own personal notes. Wondering about writing a talk so it's on my tablet when I give it. Still trying to figure out playing back audios too. I know I downloaded them but can't seem to find them anywhere. Any suggestions would help me at this point! Is there a forum thread somewhere on JWtalk that has all this info already? I must not be looking in the right places if there is so please give me a link to it. Thank you all so much!
  7. Has anyone used the interactive Regional Convention program with an Android device? If so, what app did you use? Did you type or use a stylus? Any tips or suggestions? Thanks.
  8. Here is a brief video with instructions on how to import EPubs into Moon Reader Pro and organize categories.
  9. This video shows how to make custom home screens for your electronic device. Images from jw.org, the publications, or any personal images can be used. How To Set Custom Images for Each Homescreen (Hub…:
