This is not meant to judge anyone that likes to eat at McDonalds and not meant to offend.
Anyway, about 2 months ago my husband handed me a monopoly piece that said it was for a free Rouxbe Cooking course he got with his meal. He kept asking me to check it out since he knows how much my daughter is interested in cooking. I kept procrastinating because I felt coming from a McDonald's game it would either be a waste of time or only teach us to make meals we know we couldn't eat anymore (spaghetti, mac and cheese, etc.)
Several of us have come down with gluten intolerance. Therefore we are moving toward eating more veggies (with the aim of going more towards a plant based diet). We have already started baking gluten free. My daughter really liked the class we both attended locally that taught us how to cook gluten free baked goods (especially cookies) . I'm finally enjoying having a biscuit again
However, I have been looking desperately for an affordable class/course that teaches how to prepare healthier meals that incorporate veggies. Everything I found was for younger kids or Adults. Nothing for teens.
Last week I finally went to the website the McDonald's game piece gave to check out the offer since I knew it would be expiring soon. To my surprise they have a class that teaches exactly what I was hunting for. The cooking course is very elaborate (worth around $299 + $4.99 monthly) if we had sign up for the course on our own. They have several course but the course she will be taking is Plant-Based Cooking: Level 1. I'm watching along with her so I can help her. This course can be used towards her school credit. I'm very excited.
So all this to say... who would guess that something that is based on healthly eating would come out of eating at McDonald's?
Of course, I thank Jehovah for this blessing since we can learn to eat healthier and I don't have to pay out a lot of money we couldn't spare right now.
