I've been noticing that to really grasp as much information as is found packed into our rich new videos (especially the introduction to Bible books), it helps if I pause and resume the video often, whenever something hits me that I need to really think about in order to take in. Well, one of the few youtube series I actually watch just featured this video about educational technology (highly recommend!) and the first few minutes of it talk about how to best grasp information in video form (including changing the playback speed, which you can do if you download the intro videos from the website and use something like VLC to play them) as well as pausing, as I mentioned. Also, she mentions that when you pause, try to intuit what might come next; this is surprisingly similar to the suggestion in the Benefit book about surveying material before reading it, and actually asking yourself "what do I expect I will learn?"

Completed subtitles for Jan 2015 program. NOTES: This file is in the .srt file format. It is a file that can be used to display subtitles in most media players. The contents can be viewed using any text editior. This file isn't perfect. Here are some potential issues. Formatting. I haven't formatted the spacing, timing, font, punctuation, etc. to the specifications for proper captioning for the hearing impared. I thought it was more important to release what I had first. I probably won't get to reformatting until I'm caught up with the transcription portion of all released episodes. Indecipherable words. I couldn't clearly make out some of the words. So I inserted "????" in their place. If you search for ????, you will find the timestamps for these problem areas and can attempt to work it out yourself. (I'd really appreciate if anyone who does this could leave feedback and suggestions in the comments about these words...or any mistranscribed words) If anyone finds any errors in transcription, please post a comment. I've found several the first couple of times I reviewed my work. -
