'Quarter of the world will be Muslim by 2030'

The world's Muslim population will grow twice as fast as non-Muslims over the next 20 years according to a new study, which predicted that Muslims within a generation will make up more than a quarter of the global population.

In Africa, the Muslim population of the sub-Saharan country of Nigeria will be greater than that of Egypt in 20 years, the study projects.

In Europe, Pew predicts the Muslim population will grow by nearly a third in 20 years, from 44.1 million people, or six per cent of the region's inhabitants in 2010, to 58.2 million or eight per cent of the projected total population by 2030.

Some European Union (EU) countries will see double-digit percentages of Muslims in their population by 2030: Belgium's Muslim population is projected to rise from six per cent to 10.2 per cent over the next 20 years, while France's is expected to hit 10.3 per cent in 2030, up from 7.5 per cent today.

In Sweden, Pew predicts Muslims will comprise nearly 10 per cent of the population compared to less than five per cent today.

Britain's Muslim population is predicted to rise from 4.6 per cent to 8.2 per cent by 2030, and 9.3 per cent of the population of Austria is forecast to be Muslim by then, compared to less than six per cent of residents of the alpine country now.

Russia, which is not a member of the EU, will continue to have the largest Muslim population in absolute terms in Europe in 2030, with 18.6 million Muslims or 14.4 per cent of the total population of the vast country.

The United States, meanwhile, is projected to have a larger absolute number of Muslims by 2030 than any European countries other than Russia and France, but proportionally, Muslims will make up a much smaller percentage of the population of the United States than they do in Europe.

The Muslim share of the US population is projected to grow from its current level of less than one per cent to 1.7 per cent by 2030, making Muslims "roughly as numerous as Jews or Episcopalians are in the United States," the study says.

US Muslims will jump from 2.6 million people in 2010 to 6.2 million in 2030.

Well you see, this is the very thing atheists will detest! We know what lies ahead. This is the kind of information that will make society in general want a ban on religion!

I have a feeling that the rise of Islam and Muslims to be a quarter of the world's population is not going to worry atheists very much at all - atheists seem rather smitten by Islam in part because Islam stands in opposition to Christianity, which many atheists hate with a passion. Another part of the reason is that Muslims, particularly those connected with the Muslim Brotherhood and there is an alarming number of such groups in the US according to a 1991 Brotherhood memo, have them believing that Islam "means peace" and that they are under threat from "Islamophobes" and "hate crimes" (particularly in the US) whereas in reality Jews and Christians are top of the list in that order with anti-Muslim hate crimes coming in below ones against atheists according to the FBI. A third and most decisive reason is that the OIC currently all but controls the UN and are trying to push through anti-hate crime laws that all member nations will be required to put into place which will make it completely illegal to even criticise Islam whether justified or not - this is because religion actually only makes up a small part of Islam and it is mostly a political ideology, in much the same way that Marxist ideologies such as Leninism/Stalinism, Maoism and Nazism wrapped their political ideology around a pseudo-religious core to divert people from other religions. With Marxism very much on the rocks Islam provides a suitable alternative to atheists who want to avoid religion but still be part of a strong political ideology.

I could probably be very wrong, but it is very possible we will see a very different outcome, one we never expected with Islam providing the catalyst for the destruction of other religions.

This is wrong, there will be no more muslim in 2030... only JW working on earth to organize the Paradise (tu)

Not really on topic but would JW's actually be called JW's in the Paradise. Maybe there's a printed answer (dont know) but it seems like without Satan or any negative examples, the name wouldn't make sense anymore. Just a random thought that struck me while reading this sentence...

How about 'people', or during Jesus' 1000 year reign we could be known as his 'subjects' maybe? But I also think those that have stood as his witness have done so before all creation, including the angels, and too each other, so would the name Jehovah's Witnesses ever become outdated, perhaps not. His faithful ones will always provide that testimony to the entire universe that Satan was wrong and Jehovah is the rightful soveign ruler.

Yes, it is true that if you provided a Witness, that would be a badge of honor that wouldn't go away. THe problem is that not everyone would have done so: resurrected unrighteous that become believers would not work with that title so you probably would have to scrap it as it would lead to a two-class system. You'd probably have to say "In the last days, I was one of Jehovah's witnesses"... seems like the title itself would be equivalent to the Purple Triangle or something.

That is true, and that is why I said 'those that have stood as his witness'. At the same time, I think we will all be ultimately considered as equals, hence my suggestion that we will all be subjects. It's an interesting question, one of those wait and see's, while we concentrate on vindicating Jehovah's name so that we can be called something.

I fancy the idea that he may call us personally by name.

thinking of names for resurrected and others who survive

thought this was a good point that will tie in somewhere...

16 At some point during Judgment Day, scrolls will be opened. Along with the Bible, they will form the basis for judging all alive as to their worthiness to gain everlasting life. (Read Revelation 20:12, 13.) By the end of Judgment Day, each individual will have had ample opportunity to show where he stands on the issue of universal sovereignty. Will he uphold the Kingdom arrangement and allow the Lamb to guide him to “fountains of waters of life”? Or will he resist, refusing to subject himself to God’s Kingdom? (Rev. 7:17; Isa. 65:20) By then, all on earth will have had an opportunity to make a personal decision, unhampered by inherited sin or a wicked environment. No one will be able to question the rightfulness of Jehovah’s final judgment. Only the wicked will be everlastingly destroyed.—Rev. 20:14, 15.

children of God

(tu)

My choice of being his subjects is from Psalms 72:8

'And he will have subjects from sea to sea And from the River to the ends of the earth'

Which I thought tied in nicely with the article Sian quoted above

Abolutely Jerry, but we were considering it more from Jehovahs or the rest of creations view. :)

I was thinking just that. Won't it be great for even the angels to call us by first name. As there will only be worshippers of Jehovah there won't be a need for anyone to distinguish us from ... well ... anyone else.(<img src=)'>

I could be misunderstanding what it said, but I got the distinct impression that the WT of Sept., 2010, the study issue, was saying in the last article, (Our Active Leader Today, page 28, paragraph 13) that Christendom's clergy was the Man of Lawlessness spoken of in 2 Thess. 2:3-8. And, that this clergy class would be the first to go down. Quote:The annihilation of the most reprehensible part of Babylon the Great will serve as a prelude to the total destruction of that wicked world empire of false religion. Jehovah will put it into the hearts of political leaders to devastate this spiritual harlot. That will be the first part of the great tribulation.

How neatly this fits in with what you were pointing out about the prominence of Islam in the UN, and their already having it in their hearts to destroy Christendom.

I am getting goose bumps and chills.
