The AH hosted an Appreciation Dinner for the AH workers and their families today, it started this afternoon with a tour and activities for the young ones. The invitation was unfortunately posted on social media and instead of 75-100 kids, the brothers were expecting around 500. Everyone had the same attitude Jesus did and said 'let them come'. My wife made over 500 cookies and we found out several sisters did the same.  Everything got eaten and the kids had a great time.

After the tours were over, just the workers and their families stayed for hamburgers and hot dogs. Then we had Family Night...

For several weeks the worker were encouraged to send in funny pictures or videos of them working. They were hilarious!

Since I clean and service the baptism pool, I did a time lapse video of me cleaning the pool and then sneaking out of the change room with a bathing suit and towel, then i throw the towel over the camera. They decided to use my video last and let my towel close the show. It was funny!

If you have a chance to turn in a DC-50 and join LDC, DO IT! It's not all hard work...:lol1:

Thanks for the update Richard. Sounds like it was fun for all.

We just installed carpet at an LDC project. We are thinking of going to one of their public meetings in Feb (or so) so we can meet the Brother who was willing to put us up (we ended up finishing the carpet in a single day and did not need to stay over)

was working Low Voltage in Davie - 9th st?......same days as Carpet...the squares go down quick!

now we slow down for Holiday season....lol.....but it true .... many friends are away so projects stall a bit

This Hall was a bit further north ... just 5 minutes from the Georgia state line - in Hilliard

I was supposed to do the low-voltage trimout (sound, etc.) the week before we did the carpet but got sick and couldn't go - didn't think it was a good idea to go with a 100°+ fever.

Yes, the carpet squares go in much quicker than roll goods.

Did they use a "vapor barrier" in the Hall you worked in? This was the first time we used "Versasheild Underlayment" - it appears it may also be the last time :shrugs:

We don't have any other projects on the horizon that I am aware of - things are a bit slower here in this end of the state - but, who knows, maybe we will get to work together on a project

Does that look like blue paint?

I just finished an LDC webinar.  Speaking of "building for the future" not the past...a statement was made where we were reminded that 'sacrifices made now are not costs to us, they are investments in the New World, where we will reap the benefits.'

Nice

you just added a huge volume to my empty pockets

good reminder....I appreciated it

Interesting ... I tried LDC in more than one conversion program and I got differing results.

One site agreed LDC=550 ... another site says LDC=350

OK - I re-did the LDC converter and found that the site that gave me 350 had taken the LDC from the search and changed it to LCD - thus giving 350

When I manually entered LDC it gave me 550

Crazy search engines :wall:

Why don't you just get an 'LDC' T-shirt with matching cap?
That would save all the confusion... no?

Br. Tony, I don't think simplicity and "saving confusion" are strong suits for the Turtle.  An old movie quote says "In confusion there is profit."

My daughter and husband just opened up their home for several LCD workers for at least 3 months while they help with a KH build nearby. The brother and sister just left from checking out the rooms and gave their approval..:)
