I agree.  I sometimes don't know what to pick when I go to use the button,  sometimes the available options just don't say what I feel.

I mean,  what can you say about the annual meeting,  or the ban in Russia,  or the situation our Brothers face in Venezuela?

I'm not much of a typer, I use my Samsung 8inch tablet and a soft point pen to type. I take way too long to write something so oftimes I just want to hit a button.  I should just say something instead of using the button but it's easier to push than type...

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ...

Maybe instead of a thumbs down or disagree, which I often do with an IMHOP, we could have an "On the other hand..."

On second thought the KISS principle would indicate we have enough ways to express our opinions.

That is my opinion!

Oh my. If i got a thumbs down, i would probably think twice and thrice  before posting again. I'd hate to think that I said something i shouldn't have or offended someone.

Except that the thumbdown may be for the overall subject,  not necessarily your comments.

I don't like the situation in Venezuela but how can I express that with a simple icon?  I cannot.  I often don't want to comment because I feel badly or upset for our family during their trials but at the same time I want to thank the poster for taking the time to post.

I hope we get to communicate telepathically in the new world,  it would make things so much easier. ..

We already have a "Thanks" button for exactly that purpose.

Oh yeah,  I get that,  my point is that sometimes the 'thanks' button doesn't get my feelings across very well. I can punch thanks and then the poster really doesn't know exactly what I was trying to convey.

Kinda like my 'thanks' to you just now. You could think I mean a number of different things.  A short explanatory post keeps us talking instead of just flashing signs back and forth.

A welding forum I visit has refused to implement any of the like or thanks buttons, they want people to discuss things and verbalize their opinions.  I'm of the same opinion most of the time.

If there was a  'I really don't like this but I'm confused on how to interact with you'   I would probably way overuse it.

I think it's possible to add more reactions. Bob was studying it. But negative reactions are dangerous. If we added "Dislike" or "Disagree" someone can be easily offended. And if you really need to express it you can always say it. It doesn't take so long to type "I didn't like that post much" or "That's not how I see things".
