Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens

Recommended Posts

It will be interesting to see how Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens

reacts to his resurrection.

I have always enjoyed his novels.

His cynicism about organized religion was evident in his writing.

I think he was ahead of his time with this quote

about Christendom:

If I ever get the chance, I would like to ask him

what 'exactly' he meant by the above quote.

I may be interpreting his words all wrong.

I've read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer  3 times when growing up. :D

It's hard to believe that the book was published in 1876, and it still has relevance today.

Hope he continues his writing in Paradise.

Twain was fascinated with science and scientific inquiry. He developed a close and lasting friendship with Nikola Tesla, and the two spent much time together in Tesla's laboratory.

Twain patented three inventions, including an "Improvement in Adjustable and Detachable Straps for Garments" (to replace suspenders) and a history trivia game. Most commercially successful was a self-pasting scrapbook; a dried adhesive on the pages needed only to be moistened before use. Over 25,000 were sold.

Hope he continues his interest in inventions in Paradise.

Looking forward to see him ...

Man was created as an intelligent creature with the desire to explore and understand :)

I just finished reading Twain's "Life On the Mississippi" written about 30 years after Tom Sawyer. He talks about a lot about

the times that were on the river and how much it changed since he was on the riverboats. Good read.

(Anybody else being driven crazy with this text editor? I lose half my entrees during my edit. If it is more than a paragraph I have to do my post in WORD and copy it here.   )

I am not sying I am Superman, I am only saying that nobody has ever seen Superman  and me in a room together.

We are going to take a riverboat cruise in April from Memphis to New Orleans, we are really looking forward to it.

I wonder it the makers of "Post It Notes" got there ideal from him.

:offtopic:I often wonder who collects the royalties/money from the sales of these inventions after the inventor dies, and if there  is no living relatives.

"Life On the Mississippi" is one of my favorite movies.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_on_the_Mississippi_(film)

Based on Mark Twain's novel about his own experiences during the glorious days of riverboats. A veteran riverboat pilot takes on a young apprentice.

Starring:

Robert Lansing, David Knell, James Keane

Runtime:

1 hour, 58 minutes

My copy is a VCR tape.

Can't find it in DVD format.

I never get tired of watching it.^_^
