Middle Eastern prophecy: Is Trump a reincarnated King Cyrus, destined to herald the end of days?

An article from news.com.au: Middle Eastern prophecy: Is Trump a reincarnated King Cyrus, destined to herald the end of days?

Quote

PROPHECY is unfolding in the Middle East. Riots. Killings. War. At its centre is President Donald Trump. And his evangelical supporters are hoping he will bring on Armageddon.

All I could think of when I was reading this was Matthew 24:15 - oh, and how thoroughly religion is mixed with politics.

An interesting perspective. But, I believe the modern day "disgusting thing" is the United Nations, and the "holy place" is false-religion/Babylon-the-Great. In other words, our current understanding is that Jesus words parallel Revelations description of the UN turning on false religion.

But it is an interesting thought. 4 years elapsed from the initial "standing in a holy place" until the actual destruction came back in 66-70 C.E.

PROPHECY is unfolding in the Middle East. Riots. Killings. War. At its centre is President Donald Trump. And his evangelical supporters are hoping he will bring on Armageddon         .......  The  President of the United States is God’s right-hand man   many evangelicals believe. Trump is an imperfect tool God is using to create perfect works. This means nothing less than the end of days. And a one-way ticket to heaven.

Vice-President Mike Pence is a stoic evangelical. He makes no secret that he devoutly believes that war in the Middle East is God’s will. That God wants Israel returned to the Jews. That Armageddon is part of God’s plan.

Therefore Trump has God’s authority to do whatever he wants

According to this world-view, the restoration of Jerusalem as the capital of a Jewish State is a key step towards the end of days. The Jews will get to demolish Islam’s Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and get to build the third incarnation of their sacred temple. (The first was destroyed by the Babylonians, and the second the Romans). This, in turn, will herald Armageddon.

...they have no idea...

That’s true, but from what I understand from the article religion is 100% behind this action. With everything else that’s going on in the world, I can easily see this prompting the UN to step in and remove the influence of religion on world politics. This would fulfill the prophecy as we know it.

During the Memorial week I spent some time exploring Jerusalem via Google Earth and the one thing that struck me was the number of different churches and temples in the area. I’ve never actually been there, but would it be fair to say it has the highest concentration of different religious buildings for any place on earth?? I don’t know. Christendom, as well as Muslims and Jews, That area would be considered most holy.

If the UN were to send troops into the area to quell the troubles caused by the religious manipulation, that would mean the “disgusting thing” would literally be standing in a “holy place.”

Certainly, interesting times are ahead.

Lots of inaccuracies in the part about Cyrus.

Quote

KING CYRUS

He swaggers with bravado. He rarely goes to church. He’s been married three times. He’s embroiled in sex and collusion scandals. He runs casino money tables. He’s also keen to remind everyone that he’s “somebody that has had material success and knows tremendous numbers of people with great material success — the most material success.”

He’s even previously declared that he’s never asked God for forgiveness.

But that doesn’t bother Trump’s evangelical backers. Some 81 per cent of those who identify themselves as Christian Evangelicals voted for him.

God can use the unlikeliest of men to enact his will, they argue.

They see Trump as the instrument of God’s will. His personal morals and behaviour has nothing to do with it, just so long as he enacts what they see as God’s will.

“For his evangelical supporters, there’s a sense that Trump’s unlikely election to the presidency proves that he has been chosen by God,” Young told Newsweek. “He shouldn’t have won the election, so the thinking goes, so the fact that he did — and that victory came only via the Electoral College, no less — just demonstrates that only God could make it happen.”

The president also has precedent, they believe.

According to the Old Testament, the founder of the original Israel, King David, was an adulterer and murderer. Yet God made him king, and declared him to be “a man after my own heart”.

Trump’s priest Jeffress has an even more portentous parallel. He paints the controversial President’s reign as similar to that of the biblical King Cyrus.

The Old Testament book of Isiah describes Cyrus as the King of Persia and, as such, one of Israel’s greatest enemies. But he was chosen by God to do his work — conquering Babylon and freeing the Jewish people.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, one of Trump’s most vocal international supporters, also embraces the parallel: “We remember the proclamation of the great King Cyrus the Great — Persian King. Twenty-five hundred years ago, he proclaimed that the Jewish exiles in Babylon can come back and rebuild our temple in Jerusalem ... And we remember how a few weeks ago, President Donald J. Trump recognised Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Mr President, this will be remembered by our people throughout the ages.”

Naturally many among Netanyahu’s powerbase see the prophetic context of it all very differently to Trump’s evangelicals. But they’re happy to go along for the ride, so long as it suits their own agenda.

Many will hope this all ends up with the establishment of their Third Temple.

At least Jewish Orthodox activist group believes so: the Mikdash Educational Center has produced a “temple coin” that superimposes an image of President Trump over one of King Cyrus.

First, I don't know if I'd credit David with founding Israel. Maybe that's not so much inaccurate as opinion. David did solidify Israel's boundaries, but Saul was Israel's first king and the nation was established in that region much earlier.

When we're Persia and Israel enemies?

How in the world does freeing Israel to rebuild the temple remotely compare with the US establishing the embassy in Jerusalem?  If Trump = Cyrus, then huh? Cyrus didn't establish the temple. He allowed Israelites to do so. Israel wasn't the nation opening the embassy, the United States was.  If the United States is being compared to the freed Israelites, then who do the current Israelites represent?

What a dumb opinion piece.  Writer had enough knowledge to be dangerous.

Huh. Um. Hmm.  This is a very intriguing thought and would be quite literary or poetic.  History doesn't repeat itself but it often rhymes.

Speaking for myself, this topic died with the word 'reincarnated.' :(

Maybe they should have used the term 'channeled', because,  no matter where I look, he's on every channel...:lol1:
