Aretha Franklin the Queen of Soul is Dead

Recommended Posts

I've become extremely particular (very picky) about the kind of music I listen to in my later years. Yet, I have never outgrown Aretha's music repertoire of timeless classics over the last few decades. She was indeed a legend in her own time!

[Ms. Aretha..."I'll say a little prayer for you."]

Looks like we’re going to have quite a few great artist in the new world. Imagine what they’ll be able to do when they use their talents to praise Jehovah.  I grew up with Aretha’s music. I liked many of her songs but My favorite is “until you come back to me”, very appropriate since she will likely “come back” to us.

No disrespect to the memory of the "Queen", but this article about her funeral is hilarious!

Schedule for Aretha Franklin's Funeral

Here's an excerpt:

This funeral is happening in Detroit for the Queen of Soul. There is going to be some shouting going on. And I’m not even saying it will start late. Something this important MIGHT start on time, but that first prayer of comfort at 10:20-10:25 a.m. is where I’d imagine a minute-here-and-a-minute-there get added and before anybody knows it, it’s 6:45 p.m. and the service is outlasting Law & Order: SVU marathons, and that’s no easy feat.

And the end-of-article comments are no different!

Snacks? Canned goods? Really?!

You know what they say about black church... it lasts forever

The Hebrew word cushi or kushi is an affectionate term generally used in the Bible to refer to a dark-skinned person of African descent.
