I think the biggest thing you could do is to offer to go out with them in service, so they never

have to work without a human partner.  (They always have angelic companions. ^_^)

I also think that  handing out gift cards for the local gas stations would be helpful to their limited finances.

Praying for Jehovah to help them 'fully accomplish their ministry' couldn't hurt, either.

That way, they would be supplied both physical and spiritual fuel. ^_^

I am sure that no matter what you decide to do, they will be so happy to see that they are appreciated. :D

Once we followed the pioneer meeting with a dinner invite. A 28 person sitdown meal. The elders served the pioneers. After that we had too many pioneers to serve at our house. I like to think that the word got out and that is why so many joined the pioneer ranks.  Here is the invitation that went out. (Sorry for the duplication, I have no idea why the PDF menu printed twice. I tried to clear the editor with no success.)

We used to do a restaurant themed meal - even had 2 waitresses and a bartender.

RRUUUMMMM cake is a great hit. Don't eat & drive.

Tiramisu  with Amerto

Rice based pasta more filling and lets sauce flavors come out more.

Arnacini small deep fried rice cheese balls made with Arborio rice & white wine ( denatured works too )

Although we all appreciate and value what the RP's do, I think it has come to the point where something HAS to done year after year.  It is now expected.

Does your congregation make arrangements for a meal every year?  If there is no meal but small tokens of appreciation are given, will this look bad on the elders?

I agree straight on with what Ross expressed: ↓
