Two of those annoying energy door knockers arrested for breaking and entering in Hyde Park
By adamg on Tue, 12/18/2018 - 12:11pm
Boston Police report two workers for a company called Spark Energy were arrested on Summit Street in Hyde Park yesterday after, police say, the resident arrived home and watched them try all his doors until they found an unlocked sunroom and walked in.

So, they weren't arrested for knocking on doors.  They entered the property without permission.

Sidewalk... front door...  these imply permission to at least knock on the entrance.  We do not, however, have permission to roam the yard or try all the resident's doors in our ministry.  We definitely do not have permission to try all the doors until we find an unlocked one we can enter.

Right, the headline seems to equate door-knocking. itself, with criminal activity.

These “workers” were obviously trying to scam, the report even says they tried to get the home owners utility bill and account number.  In the comments section below in that same report they talk about how these scammers will call in pretending to be you and switch utility company behind your back.

No honest utility company would ever have a policy that encourages breaking into someone’s house to obtains someone’s utility bill and account info.
