Chinese Police Officers Have Raided Mosques In A New Crackdown On Religion

TAIPEI, TAIWAN — The Chinese government expanded its crackdown on religion over the weekend, with hundreds of police officers storming three mosques and forcibly evicting hundreds of worshippers in the southwest province of Yunnan.

Videos circulating on Twitter show uniformed police officers forcing their way into one mosque, where residents were reportedly praying for protection.

I wonder what our situation is in China. Does anyone have any recent information on this?

It’s better for everyone who is there now or who will be in the future that we don’t discuss the situation over a public forum. It’s very hard not to know exactly what is happening to our friends, but I know 100% Jehovah is taking care of them 😊

Found this most interesting article in the Guardian giving an inside look into Christian activity in China.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/jan/13/china-christians-religious-persecution-translation-bible

Here are a few interesting quotes from the article giving you an idea of what is happening to those that are advancing believes in Christ. Don't know if I should be fearing for our brothers or be happy about BtheG being attacked.

Researchers say the current drive, fuelled by government unease over the growing number of Christians and their potential links to the west, is aimed not so much at destroying Christianity but bringing it to heel.

“The government has orchestrated a campaign to ‘sinicise’ Christianity, to turn Christianity into a fully domesticated religion that would do the bidding of the party,” said Lian Xi, a professor at Duke University in North Carolina, who focuses on Christianity in modern China.

You can also imagine what would happen if we had official places of worship in China.

Quote

Over the past year, local governments have shut hundreds of unofficial congregations or “house churches” that operate outside the government-approved church network, including Early Rain. A statement signed by 500 house church leaders in November says authorities have removed crosses from buildings, forced churches to hang the Chinese flag and sing patriotic songs, and bar minors from attending.

Definitely an argument to be made that the Chinese government behaves like their father corrupting God's word of truth.

One of the goals of a government work plan for “promoting Chinese Christianity” between 2018 and 2022 is “thought reform”. The plan calls for “retranslating and annotating” the Bible, to find commonalities with socialism and establish a “correct understanding” of the text.

Bibles, sales of which have always been controlled in China, are no longer available for sale online, a loophole that had existed for years. In December, Christmas celebrations were banned in several schools and cities across China.

You have to admire people that believe in the Bible and do whatever the Bible teaches them to do, you only wonder how God will introduce them to a visible representative of his people.

Quote

They maintain contact through encrypted platforms. On New Year’s Eve, 300 people joined an online service, some from their homes, others from cars or workplaces, to pray for 2019. Others gather in small groups in restaurants and parks. One member, a student who was sent back to Guangzhou, said he preaches the gospel to the police who monitor him.

This explains a lot why Chinese tourist who go by our carts with Chinese artwork in the SMPW work show sometimes a disdain for our message, almost like evangelists in the US Bible belt.

No effort = No bananas
More efforts = More bananas

Guys I am shocked... What is happening?

Meditating on the Bible is the best way to know Jehovah.

Meditating on his Creation, the Universe, is the 2nd best way.🌴🌎

Studying Physics is the best way to learn about his Creation.🤓

The Lord is my shepherd is “new testament”? 🤦🏾‍♂️

The Hebrew word cushi or kushi is an affectionate term generally used in the Bible to refer to a dark-skinned person of African descent.
