Do you have studies attending the meetings?

I must say, it's been quite exciting not just for me but our local congregations, there's seems to be an upsurge of studies coming to the meeting. Jehovah blessed me with two coming and another thinking about it.

It's very encouraging not just for myself but for my studies and the congregations.

How's the Bible Study attendance by you all? Any nice experiences?

I almost had a great experience last week.

Several weeks ago we were doing early morning street work and I stopped at a carpool lot, it was a Sunday morning and I was surprised to see someone getting out of a work truck at the far end of the lot. I talked to him for a minute and left him a tract, he asked for my phone number in case he had questions.

I didn't hear from him for several weeks so I stopped by the carpool lot again and his truck was there, I left a tract and a note for him, he called me two days later. During our conversation he said he wanted a bible so I offered to bring him one, he suggested that he could just meet me at my church! So we made arrangements for him to attend a meeting, unfortunately he texted just before the meeting that he was sick and couldn't make it.

Anyway, I have texted him and hope to get him to a meeting soon.

Wow. Tort - hopefully it works out with that.

Our chappie who came is an atheist ... we've started a study in the good news brochure ... well he's also an alcoholic so attention span is a little short for now. He's very honest and says he wants to believe but can't, so his head knowledge is stopping his heart, hopefully giving him accurate knowledge will jumpstart the heart.

He came to the meeting ... looked at me (Tom was sick so another couple and myself picked him up) and said: "Don't expect me to sing the songs will you? - I said No No just observe so you know what goes on here that's fine. Welllll ... he sung all the songs and was the loudest out of all four of us - very nice voice. Young chap well 44ish ... looking foward to where Jehovah is taking us on this one.

We have 46 studies in 120 publishers in the congregation, many progressing nicely.

It is so heart-warming to read that there are still people who are willing to learn the truth. I am very surprised, Greg, that you have so many studies in Melbourne.

Does anyone conduct studies over the internet (i.e WhatsApp, Skype)?

I'm surprised at this, considering that you are in an area where people don't want care anything about religion. Wow.

I don't know how many studies people have in my congregation, but there may be only one the KH routinely. There was one other guy who would show up once every month or two, but I haven't seen him in months.

There are about 100 publishers here. One of my friends recently described preaching in this area as panning for gold. Sounds about right.

We have 3 or 4 attending the Hall ...

We also just had 2 new unbaptized publishers announced in the prisons - we have 3 prisons in or territory, including "death row"

Since I can't formally preach yet I don't have studies. But a friend of mine who's depressed and has the life goal of cryogenically freezing himself till a better future comes... attended meeting today after 3 weeks of asking him to come and praying he'd make it eventually.

So I'm thankful to Jehovah for that.

They are mostly young students and non Australians, we only had 1 Aussie studying and getting baptised.

We have Chinese suburb on our territory as well...

When it comes to Aussies.. unfortunately, it’s very difficult.

Also the number of studies is boosted well with many children of baptised brothers and sisters still studying and making their way to baptism, and total figure reflects that.

Brother Greg,

Several friends on JWTalk and yourself have mentioned how hard it is to

preach to Aussies...what is the main reason you would give

for their disinterest/apathy....is Australia a very secular country?

It's not easy in the U.S./Montana....people are very suspect of

anyone coming to their door, who they don't recognize, or didn't

invite.

We are a smaller congregation. Three bible students come regularly. Plus two, I haven’t seen in the past weeks🙁

I’m enjoying getting to know one of them. She rides with me, and, it has been a joy. She’s pretty well commented and read scriptures from her first meeting.

I want to age without sharp corners, and have an obedient heart!

Hello all who read,

This is my first post!

I am happy to say, YES! I am blessed with a Bible study who attends our meetings. At the moment only Sundays and assemblies and conventions but we are working on midweek meeting attendance. This is her third time studying over the course of about 30 years! Praying that this time the time is right for her to finally be baptized and be fully drawn along by Jehovah.

She's doing well and we are good friends now and we are setting new goals so she can stretch forward.

Today one of my Biblestudies attending the meeting with his young daughter. He took his car and drove me 320 km so I could give a talk to a congregation in a rur area and we went back today too. He like driving but today it was heavy snow weather but we are safe after starting 08:00 in the morning and came back 21:00 this evening. Wonderful congregation with 41 attending.

I have one Bible Student who attends when her health allows. She would like to go to more meetings. My undedicated husband frequently comes on Sunday. Another Sister has studies that we do together. One of these ladies attended today and sat with me. She is a tough cookie, but I think she may be coming around (finally used Jehovah's name last Weds. She got to meet a lot of the friends and was surprised that we were all well-dressed. We told her we were just happy she was there. Her name is Ruth. Many people mentioned they hope she could make it again. I told her if she doesn't come back, we'll be Ruthless.
