    JW Broadcasting for January 2019

I am literally counting down the hours. I can not wait.. and just because of that, this will probably be one of the broadcasts that is not loaded until 9pm. I will be taught patience one way or another. 🤣

The nurse in charge of setting up Home Health Care came this morning. She stayed about 2 hours and collected a ton of information. On Tuesday, a guy is coming to evaluate my Mom's ability, or lack of ability, to care for herself. If she qualifies, the paperwork will be passed on to Medicare and her supplemental insurance company. If her insurance approves coverage, then, and only then , will my Mom be able to receive some medical assistance. Until then, we will continue to assist her in every way we are qualified to do so. Neither of us can draw blood or do a lab analysis for her Cumadin levels. In the meantime, I had to go back home because I have a doctor's appointment of my own tomorrow. Our baby sister will hopefully take my place until I can get back. She works full time but would be there for her after work. My brother Brother Peter does such an amazing job of caring for my Mom. I was able to handle all the stress of this past week, until she started saying hateful things about him behind his back. I reminded her of all that he has done/is doing for her and that without his help, she would be in a nursing home. Only, I didn't word it quite that nicely. I am ashamed and sorry that I lost my cool. But it wasn't her failing body that I couldn't handle. It is her failing mind. She sleeps 20 to 23 hours a day. Her waking hours are filled with fear and confusion. But, mostly she is frustrated. I am sure her frustration lends to some of her darker moments. She has no concept of what day, month or year it is. This morning, she wanted me to open the drapes so she could watch my sister Teri get on the school bus. My sister Teri is 49 years old. Besides being mean and nasty sometimes, there is the fixation. She keeps going on and on and on and on about wanting us to take her to some non-existent park to look for her mother's rings. (They went missing when they moved her from one hospital facility to another. They were stolen and reported stolen but are gone forever.) We can explain the reality of the situation until we are both blue in the face, but she refuses to believe us. My brother has driven her all around for hundreds of miles asking her to point out the park where she left the rings sitting on two wooden posts...just to humor her. She feels so badly that she is responsible for the loss of her mother's rings, so we try to explain that she didn't LOSE them, they were STOLEN from her. All to no avail. Dimentia is proof positive that we were never designed to grow so old. Thanks for allowing me to vent. ❤️❤️❤️

If the January Broadcast is NOT the Annual Meeting it would be discussed right here in this thread ... Now, if it January Broadcast IS the Annual Meeting - it would be proper to discuss it in the thread for the January Broadcast Oh that is THIS thread

So, yesterday, being the bright personality I think I am (haha) ... I find a bright pink hat with black lace to wear in the field service yesterday ... sun is very harsh here in NZ ... walking along I go to put my hand on top of my hat to stop the breeze from blowing it away ... and there was this big fluffy bumblebee on top - must have thought it was the biggest pink daisy he'd ever seen. Man those bumble's can bite can't they? Expect sympathy from the brothers? Nup they couldn't stop laughing ... they now call me Bumble.

The CO called his final meeting

The CO called his final meeting with the elders & I asked him if it would be like Acts 20:37-38 where weeping broke out because they would be seeing Paul no more. “Well...if there is any crying, it won’t be for that reason,” he said. #DecadesAgo #AndyLaguna

The CO called his final meeting

Irony.. We just had a fill in CO who seems to have been all of those things. We just left the meeting and all of the elders said they didn't feel as if they had a stand in. The words of wisdom just seem to pour out of him.. You could not praise him.. Which meets your first thought

Our CO is from Denmark, and in my humble opinion - best teacher I ever seen in the truth. He was a secular teacher before the truth, so this perhaps helped him to embrace teaching skills bit better.

If JW Broadcasting was showing the view count publicly like YouTube does then I am sure this would have the highest number.

I suggested a update to so JW Library could be used to display third-party media at the Kingdom Hall, eg, pictures for public talks. My idea was that elders and servants could log on to jw.org. A new page would allow you to enter the date and congregation where you giving the talk. You upload your pictures to the site. The JW Library app from the Kingdom Hall logs on to the congregation account, and downloads the extra media. The branch and c.o's could also use it for local needs videos etc. It would save the need for extra software, and less training, and the need for usb sticks, the possible passing of malware. It could also enter a special "kingdom hall" mode, where it automatically downloads in the background the videos and publications needed for upcoming meetings.

I dunno if I like that idea, I have a few scars that I'm kinda proud of. They tell the story of my life, a rode map, if you will....😉 ( all punctuation or spelling errors are intentional, intended for your amusement)

We had a DO who read also an instructor at pioneer school. He could has is all near to rolling on the floor with humour and the next absolutely serious with the point he was making. Incredible balance of talent. Even now I can recall exactly what his teaching points were. Beggars belief what Jesus was like!

Haha, Sis, I was just funnin around, I do that every so often... That would be fine with me, I don't really want to carry this skin cancer and jagged scars and other sundry assorted wear marks around for ever. Think of how we would look after 1000yrs🤤 If I can do this much damage to myself in the last 50yrs, how much more would we accumulate over 1K?... Yeah, I'll take the refresh option, thank you velly mush---😁

If anyone hasn't seen this program, it is really well presented talks, interviews and a short play all presented by Brothers and Sisters. Well worth the 2 .5 hours to watch. A powerful witness to be sure.

    Keto, IF and OMAD...

A sister a few weeks ago suggested I check a doctor Berg’s videos about this Keto thing. LOL i have watched a couple and I thought this one was interesting. We all know there’s the “do this, no don’t do that, do this instead” kinda human mentality. There’s the drink 8 glasses a day thinking. Well, I just saw this doctor Berg YouTube video. I guess it does make sense.

I for one enjoy the variety that CO's bring to the Congregation. One might be extremely humble, another might have awesome illustrations and another might have a contagious sense of humor or yet another might excel in all three qualities. What ever the case, sometimes I really hate to see one go.

    Speaking disparagingly

What I normally see is people discussing scriptures, talks, the ministry, and sometimes problems with other people. But this seems to be to ask for advice, not for any kind of enjoyment. Dealing with people and difficult situations can be really challenging sometimes. It's nice to be able to run situations by others for advice or a new perspective. There is great wisdom on the forum and I can say for a fact that I have personally benefited from it. Now occasionally there will be someone who seems to be maybe getting into things that maybe should not be their concern, but other members usually inform them of this. Perhaps they didn't realize, now they do. Live and learn. I'm quite active on this forum, but perhaps I have missed something?

Do we have a wish list for JWLibrary changes? I would like the magazine mp3s included in the Media > Audio section so you can listen to them without streaming..

In the paradise... Will we have bandaids?

I guess we will hurt ourselves sometimes and will need bandaids and maybe iodine. For bigger wounds, we will need someone to sew the wound or a cast for broken bones. And surely some painkiller wouldn't hurt. What leads me to that conclusion is that Jehovah created us with a lot of wonderful healing mechanisms: our blood coagulates and stops the bleeding, flesh grows again and closes the wound, broken bones repair themselves and white blood cells and antibodies fight infections. Why would Jehovah endow us with all those healing systems if we were never going to need them? Jesus was a perfect man, yet when he was beaten it hurt and when cut he bled. He did not heal instantly or miraculously. When offered a painkilling drug while on the stake he refused it so that he could be in full control of his mind. That suggests that drugs have the same effect on perfect people as they have on us. And surely Jehovah created all those medicinal herbs and plants for a reason. Our publications show people building houses in paradise using helmets and gloves and safety equipment. Of course that's just an artist's imagination, but why would we wear those safety clothes if no one could get hurt?

I came across this old advertisement for Chesdale Cheese from New Zealand. This holds a special place in my heart because a friend of mine who has since passed away, wrote this ... he was an elder and a beautiful pianist he also worked for TVNZ, but more than that, he was a beautiful faithful servant of Jehovah. His wife and son/daughter-in-law are visiting our congregation at the moment ... the latter live in Tonga and Jehovah has given them so many blessings in the field.I really love this family they are a constant source of spiritual encouragement. Enjoy the ad - it has a very 'kiwi' type of lifestyle conveyed

Monday, January 7 Be wrathful, but do not sin.—Eph. 4:26. Few people have been treated as badly as David was. Still, that friend of God did not allow resentment to gnaw away at him. Rather, he wrote: “Let go of anger and abandon rage; do not become upset and turn to doing evil.” (Ps. 37:8) The most important reason to “let go” of anger is to imitate Jehovah, who “has not dealt with us according to our sins.” (Ps. 103:10) But there are also practical benefits to ‘letting go’ of anger. Anger can cause such physical problems as high blood pressure and respiratory trouble. It can affect the liver and the pancreas, and it can cause digestive problems. When we are angry, we do not always think clearly. And at times a fit of anger may be followed by a prolonged period of depression. On the other hand, “a calm heart gives life to the body,” says the Bible. (Prov. 14:30) How, then, can we deal with hurt feelings and gain our brother? We can do so successfully by applying the Bible’s wise advice. w18.01 10 ¶14-15

    Keto, IF and OMAD...

I have switched things up a bit. I'm doing a 30 day carnivore experiment, which technically should be 0 carb, but am not being as hard core as some people seem to be. For example, I am not giving up my morning coffee, so there is a couple of carbs there and a bit of cream. But that's about that. Other than that, it's protein and water. Some people who have done this claim to feel better than ever. Energetic, almost on a high. I need energy, plus it would be nice to kick out the inflammation that is causing my rheumatoid arthritis to flare up. Tomorrow is day 5. I will try to remember to update for anyone that's curious about my results. 😊

Actually the carolina reaper WAS the hottest. Now it’s number 3. Pepper X and chocolate pepper X both are estimated as twice as high on the scoville scale. To be fair these were created by the same man who brought us the ever tasty reaper.

Ohhh the wasabi chocolate .. now that brings back some memories! It tasted terrible but it was such fun to try it! Mands do you realise that it was more than 10 years ago that we tried that? I'm liking the sound of the spicy dishes - but not too spicy - I am also not very brave, but I do like a little bit of a kick to my food.

    Fifty Abduls!

After the 1rst meeting, they got an A by their name on my iPad. After the 2nd, a B. It is my own invention, done so that no one falls through the cracks. Nobody got a C for the next meeting, because I was not there myself to see. After the next, they got a D & autocorrect made them all 'Abduls!' Fifty people in my congregation are named Abdul!
