  1. This happened to me just last week. A brother visited from Australia, last time he was here my mother was dying and I didn't notice anything untoward. This time however, something seemed wrong. So I decided to test him out and started talking about the annual general meeting broadcast, I could tell he hadn't a clue what I was talking about. So on the day he was leaving I told him straight out that I could tell he wasn't right spiritually. He admitted it and said he didn't think I'd pick it up. In the mean time, one of our elders had also cottoned on to him and told me he thought he was dodgy. I haven't heard from him since. Either he will eventually contact me having righted himself, or that's the last we'll see of him now he knows I saw through him.
  2. My father was once asked what was he doing? English was his second language, he replied that he was constipating, after a few funny looks it was realized he meant contemplating!
  3. Hot here in Taupo, New Zealand today, but we have a beautiful lake to cool off in, went in yesterday, bliss!
  4. You notice 3 of my pleasures involve my bed, I must be lazier than you lot! Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  5. Lying in bed listening to the wind blowing in the trees in my garden. Being in bed with a good book. Waking up early and realizing I'm not on early cart today! Arriving at cart with good coffee for my partner and myself. But no donuts!! 2 fat sisters on the cart not a good look!
  6. I love the way the previous translation said "and Jonah proceeded to get up and run away". I would have done the same! And, again old translation, Job 42:8. Jehovah is basically saying" if I have to look at your faces I might do something to you! " I laugh every time. The new translation does miss a few of these nuances.
  7. I like too to use the arch of the human foot. Everyone has seen a stone arch somewhere, it needs scaffolding until the keystone is in place, otherwise it falls down. It also has wedge shaped stones near the top of the arch. The arch of your foot is exactly the same, right down to wedge shaped bones and a keystone. If the arch can't hold together without the keystone, how could it have evolved by chance? And who designed the very precise wedge shaped bones if not a designer? I used this with an engineer recently with great success. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  8. It comes from a book called The Science Of God, by Gerald Schroeder. He is a Hebrew speaker, a bible scholar and an astrophysicist. Bear in mind no author will agree with us on every point, but I checked this out in a Hebrew word dictionary too. Other spelling I've come across too is 'ereb' and 'boqer' Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  9. I came across this some years ago, "the Hebrew word for evening is ' erev' It's root meaning is disorder. The Hebrew for morning is ' boker', it's root being orderly, able to be discerned. So evening to morning in Genesis describes a flow from disorder to order, contrary to the 2nd law of thermodynamics which states that non managed systems do the opposite. Order out of chaos is such an improbable and unusual event that in the subtle language of Hebrew, the bible mentions it 6 times. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  10. I have a friend who when he was 12 years old walked into the park near his home in Austria, looked up, and said "God, if you exist I'd like to know more about you ". 2 days later he came into contact with the Witnesses. In the face of family opposition he came into the truth. The family moved Australia hoping to get him away from "those people " but the 1st friend he made in school was a witness, Jehovah looked after him. To this day none of his family have ever responded to the bible's message, how remarkable he did at 12 years of age and alone. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
