  1. If anyone needs an ark, I happen to Noah guy.😁
  2. Just started to drink Warm Lemon Water to replace my tea drinking habit, I didn’t realize that it erodes your tooth enamel. I know apple cider vinegar does, and I always down it as fast as I can.
  3. Yeah I heard that as well a bit of miscommunication, I believe they just said second floor is cleared now.
  4. Anytime anyone flies, it is a gamble your taking, you just never know. The odds may be that flying on a plane is still a safe way to travel, but just having one plane crash is imo is too many. I’ve been on an airplane to Texas one time and we had really really bad turbulence on the way to Dallas Airport, and let me tell you that trap feeling you get when something like this happens, there is nothing you can do but hope that there are good pilots on board that know how to navigate the plane. Im with Qapla on Trains, I prefer the alternative if i can.
  5. Site is down for maintenance.. Where I live in Vancouver, we have a lot of bald eagles that love to sit on top of light poles next to the highways, I see them almost everyday as I’m travelling location to location, they are beautiful birds to watch, there is a certain spot out in the farm land where there seems to be a lot of them. Real fun to watch them.
  6. I meant just in general, here’s a quote from Finnish Defence Forces website https://puolustusvoimat.fi/en/conscription ,also Finland is not part of Nato, but is part of “Partnership of Peace” which includes Russia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO Conscription - a Finnish choice General conscription guarantees Finland's military security. All Finnish men between the ages of 18 and 60 are liable for military service. Women can apply for voluntary military service. All men must either do military service or non-military service. Why conscription? As Finland is not a member of any military alliance, it is prepared to defend its territory relying on its own resources. General conscription generates enough resources for the Army, Navy and Air Force to act effectively in times of war and crises. Conscription is a cost-effective way of generating a large and capable reserve. Our reservists possess skills acquired through military service and life in general that can be used to defend the country.
  7. I’m not sure If im right here, but I believe small countries are more prone to being invaded so they force citizens to serve their country in case they need to call them up.
  8. For those that live in Canada and looking for a good weather app for your phone or tablet and want to be informed on any weather alerts automatically, I recommend WeatherCan App, this App is designed by the Government of Canada and it was just released to the public about a week or so ago. By far the best weather App I have ever used. If I’m driving from city to city, this App will give me the latest forecast and weather alerts as I get to that city.
  9. I was looking at their application form and their “Statement of Faith” that is listed there you need to sign/agree as part of the application process, your required to abide to their “Statement of Faith” in order to be hired and along the other requirements when on duty. Nothing like forcing people to believe something they don’t believe in just to get a job. Almost sounds like a backdrop recruitment. There are apparently 900 job positions at the arc??
  10. I didn’t know there was such a thing as a school resource officer, here’s a link of who and what they do exactly. https://work.chron.com/job-description-school-resource-officer-19546.html
  11. Because of that 1995 conviction, he wasn’t suppose to own any firearms, according to the media he had just bought a Smith and Wesson firearm just prior to that conviction. So it went under the radar.
  12. More mass shooting, this time in a workplace in Aurora. 5 Dead plus the gunman,5 Police officers were wounded as well in the conflict. The gunman was using a smith & Wesson handgun. https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/15/us/illinois-active-shooter-report/index.html
  13. Thanks Carlos. Just so that we’re clear, This was sent to me as a PDF format in email through a subsciption I have, wasn’t copied from a site since I never stated original article link.
  14. Latest on Climate Change from the Climate Science and Awareness Monthly and Yearly update. This was the Yearly Update. Original article: http://csas.ei.columbia.edu/2019/02/06/global-temperature-in-2018-and-beyond/ Global Temperature in 2018 and Beyond 06 February 2019 James Hansen[a], Makiko Sato[a], Reto Ruedy,[c],Gavin A. Schmidt[c], Ken Lo[c] Abstract. Global surface temperature in 2018 was the 4th highest in the period of instrumental measurements in the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) analysis. The 2018 global temperature was +1.1°C (~2°F) warmer than in the 1880-1920 base period; we take that base period as an estimate of ‘pre-industrial’ temperature. The four warmest years in the GISS record all occur in the past four years, and the 10 warmest years are all in the 21st century. We also discuss the prospects for near-term global temperature change. [NOTE: Due to copyright regulations we cannot accept whole articles. 15. Most large businesses in Canada have started using the word “People” instead of the word “Guys” when making referencing to a collective group. I remember I had to change my wording at a company I worked at as some were offended.
  16. Hi jayrtom, I’m a little late to the party here but wanted to give my input. Have you tried counting calories? Because there is a science to losing weight. The Human body uses energy to stay alive and is measured by a unit called calories. The bigger we are the more of us there is and the more calories we need. Also being active uses more calories as our body requires more energy. A good example would be a car, a smaller car weighs less and needs less fuel to cover a distance than a heavier car. A car that drives faster or drives more often needs more fuel. If your body burns 2500 calories a day then you need to eat 2500 calories a day, this is like how if your car needs a litre of gas a day you need to put a litre of gas in the car each day. If you eat more calories than you need in a day, your body stores that energy as fat, this would be like putting that extra gas in a canister and storing it in the trunk of your car. So the math goes like this, to lose 1 pound of fat you need to burn 3500 calories. If you burn 3000 calories a day (for example) and eating 2500 calories a day (for example), then you would have a deficit of 500 calories for that day of burned fat, do this for the whole week and that will give you a deficit of 3500 calories for the week giving you 1 pound of weight loss, do this for the month and it totals to 4 pounds of weight loss. This is why counting calories is important, and keeping track of how many calories you burn (maybe a Fitbit watch?). Because otherwise your just guessing and may never see any real progress. It’s not hard to grab a bag of chips at the office or go to Starbucks to grab a Frappuccino, all those empty calories go against your daily total. Everyone has a daily amount of calories that your body requires to consume, you need to figure out what it is. That’s the first goal, I had a leanscreen body composition done and I require 2500 calories of energy a day.
  17. Speaking of poles melting more, NASA just discovered that in West Antarctica the Thwaites Glacier has a massive cavity on its underside, the void is estimated at about thousand feet tall and two-thirds the size of Manhattan Island. If the ice in Thwaites Glacier all melted, it would raise the oceans by 2 feet around the world. https://www.forbes.com/sites/ericmack/2019/01/31/a-massive-hole-found-in-a-glacier-in-antarctica-is-really-bad-news-for-beach-homes-everywhere/#5c1568fa580f
  18. A newly discovered privacy bug in Apple's FaceTime software allows users to hear and see the person they are calling, without the recipient even picking up. The glitch impacts iPhones and iPads running iOS 12.1, and Apple PCs running macOS Mojave with the newly added Group FaceTime feature. Apple (AAPL) confirmed it started disabling the Group FaceTime feature for all users, but the issue may still impact one-on-one FaceTime calls. Until the company rolls out a fix later this week, here's how to disable FaceTime on your Apple device: 1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad 2. Scroll down and select FaceTime 3. Toggle off the green button at the top of the screen. To turn it off on a Mac, follow these steps: 1. Open the FaceTime app 2. Go to FaceTime on top of the screen 3. Select "Turn FaceTime Off." When the bug is activated, the person who initiated the call is able to hear the live audio on the other person's phone, but the screen gives no indication that their conversation is being transmitted. In some cases, the bug can also show live video of the other person if they press a volume button to dismiss the call. https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/29/tech/facetime-bug-how-to-deactivate-scli-intl/index.html
  19. Watching this CNN video, it is stated that in 1975 the Antarctica ice sheet was melting at about 40 billion tons a year, Now fast forward to 2017, it is now melting at a rate of 252 billion tons a year at a rate 6 times or more a year. 2018 has the warmest oceans on record, breaking 2017’s record. https://www.cnn.com/videos/world/2019/01/16/antarctica-glacier-ice-melt-earth-matters-jennifer-gray-dnt-lead-vpx.cnn/video/playlists/around-the-world/
  20. Now Russia threatens Europe with a Nuclear Device that can create 1300 - 1600 foot high tidal waves that can go inland and wipe out all life 1000 miles in. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/russian-media-threatens-europe-with-200-megaton-nuclear-doomsday-device/ar-BBSfEik?li=AAggNb9
  21. Just wanted to follow up on my original post. So Ive been researching what the issue may be and it seems that updating the firmware on a windows 10 works the best, but updating via phone or iPad seems to be a weak wifi connection issue due to the size of the update. It took me 4 days to get this Fitbit to update via IPad and an additional day to find out that I had to restart my Fitbit 3 times before it started to read my heart rate and properly record my steps and calories. I’m sure I’m not the only one using a Fitbit, but wanted to reply on how I resolved my issue. Thanks for reading.
  22. Anyone use a Fitbit? Having an issue updating firmware, seems to be a connection issue of some sort, it sometimes connect then it disconnects, I keep having to repeat this process over and over. Seems I’m getting nowhere with the updates. Looking for suggestions. Tx
