  1. So here goes... Sorry it's not as exciting as Whisky, or a Rorschach Test 😂. Myself and my wife are moving back to Scotland. Spent 8 years living and working in Glasgow between 2000 and 2008 where I found the truth and got baptized before returning back to South Africa. Unfortunately I've lost contact with with everyone back in Glasgow. Does anyone living in Scotland know of anybody who has a spare room, vacant apartment or a sofa to assist with while we quarantine for the mandatory 14 days? Doesn't have to be in Glasgow specifically. Please PM me if you know of anyone or you are willing to assist, or if you are in a cong where there is a need for an Elder and his Regular Pioneer wife.
  2. Hi Friends. Anyone here living in Scotland?
  3. Also had this issue mid week. We had a resolution passed, all hands went up and had to lower each individually. Would be awesome if the "lower all" option hasn't been completely removed but rather moved somewhere else. If anyone finds it, please let us know.
  4. It appears that this update, currently only applies to those connection via a Laptop or Desktop. The raise hand feature remains blue and can still be found under the participants panel for those connecting via a mobile device.
  5. Any one have any experience using breakout rooms for smaller groups of association before and after meetings? Is there a way to randomly assign participants to a group? If so, please could you assist on how to do this. Thanks.
  6. Clap gesture cannot be seen on the participants list on the right of the screen, which all brothers who have parts on the program in our congregation use. Gestures are only visible when using gallery view.
  7. I've done the latest update and still no "raise hand" option for co-hosts?
  8. Not sure if this has been covered, but has anybody figured out how to still participate during meetings while 'hosting' or 'co-hosting' meetings on zoom. As far as I'm aware, there still has not been an update that allows those hosting to raise their hands. This sounds like a quick fix on zooms side, not sure why this has been overlooked. I normally log in from a second device, normally my mobile phone while using my laptop to host. I join without audio and camera and use this second device (mobile phone) to raise my hand. So annoying....... and hope this will be sorted soon.
  9. Hi all, hope everyone has had a good start to the week. I am an Elder and the sound and now Zoom overseer. Is there anything someone can send me to clear up the issueas to whether having video on during meetings effects the bandwidth of others. Their seems to be an ongoing debate to whether video should be left on or off during Zoom meetings. Any assistance with this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  10. Thanks, I also found this very interesting and thank you for sharing. Really appreciate it! Have an awesome weekend.
  11. Thanks again for all the comments. Carlos learned something new. I've decided to stay clear from naming the pup Mavro. The word has been used alot by some Greek speaking people in South Africa to refer to black people in a derogitory way. Alot of Greek speaking people in South Africa have in the past, and still own alot of business, mainly corner cafe's and Fruit and Veg stores. Most of their employees are black, and some of these owners have often used this word as a racist slur to refer to their staff in a derogitory way. I think not so much now but definitely during apartheid years. Its proper use has now been lost. So best to steer clear of this word in South Africa, so ive learned.
  12. Agreed! Mavro as a word in not guilty of being derogitory, It's how you use it, or rather the target recipient. If I call my pup Mavro, or a company...for example "Mavro Consulting," there is nothing wrong in doing so. If it's aimed at a person, especially someone of a darker skin colour then that would be wrong. Thanks again for all the helpful comments.

How I Found the Truth

  • How I found the Truth
Was brought up in the truth. However only really began to appreciate what i had known all my life in 2005. I lived in Glasgow at the time, a brother called on me and left me with the book "What Does The Bible Really Teach." I read it from cover to cover along with my Bible which my mom had carefully sneaked in my luggage when I left South Africa for Glasgow. Could not put it down, I had known everything I was reading before, but strangely enough it had never really moved me in any way untill that day. I visited the local Congregation in Clydebank that Sunday, was baptised the following year in 2006 and the rest is history.
