  1. We will have to wait and see. Scriptures are silent on that subject. But wouldn't be just vegetables, there are a wide variety of foods from veges/fruit nuts/legumes grains/fungi, we will enjoy anything Jehovah gives us to eat.
  2. No photoshopping there. It's a statue exactly the same size of the real thing - they are dotted all around NZ.
  3. There are more with us, than against us - and THAT gives us Courage. We have countless friends in Heaven.

  4. Yes. Initially New Zealand and NZ's Prime Minister was getting very high praise from all over the world, both from secular governments and the muslim communities around the world. It would be very easy for us Jehovah's Witnesses in New Zealand to have some kind of inward pride for being part of a mostly peaceful country. BIG TRAP. It can, and may be, turning. This month's broadcasting is very timely. We must ALL remain neutral even in our hearts.
  5. Hiya Miss Bea - welcome. It's fairly new. They are calling it modern crosstitch. Go to a platform like wish, aliexpress, Amazon, eBay and see if there is a good starting one for really cheap. Some of them are only a few dollars then shipping. Just be aware the more complicated the pattern the bigger size you buy so look for a simple pattern to begin with. Some things to check when buying. In specficiations on Wish.com they will have the size - it's my opinion that 20 x 20 cm (you may have to convert) or less is too small. 20 x 30 cm is a good starting size. Realizing the most measurements take in the white border around the picture. Check the 'drill' area to see if it's partial or a full drill - as some partials are very minimalistic only taking an hour or two to do ... full drill means all the canvass has the drills (or diamonds) on it. And once you work out whether you like working in square or round drills - then you can check each order to see what they feature. When you get your order: Your order will come with a canvass with either a clear piece of paper or a white piece of paper to protect the glued area. When it first arrives pull back each corner to the middle then lay it back down .. this flattens the canvass and you can also check it to make sure it's not creased beyond help or there are no rivers. Rivers are air pockets between the canvass and glue area, these can be released by gently runnin down a blade so just the top layer is cut and then you can release the air. Check that all your drills are there by checking it off the little chart on the pattern. Your kit should have at least x1 drill pen, x1 tray and some pink wax. (This is for loading your drill pen so that the pen can pick up the drills) Some kits have tweezers and plastic bags, different size drill trays depending on how big a DP you buy. Some people use a light box underneath, I use a torch and/or a magnifying lamp at night. The trick is to keep the rows as straight as you can when you do them, placing the drills in a checkerboards style then going back and filling it in seems to keep them pretty straight. The round drills are more forgiving here as they seem to slot into place better, but square drills give a clearer picture when finished. I use a marble rollingpin at the end to make sure all the drills are secure. You can finish your painting if you wish, many are recommending a glue with an appiicator called "Aqua" sold on Amazon for a few dollars. Framing: Some are putting them on boards or frames that they find cheap. There are videos for every process above on youtube.
  6. Another shooting in Netherlands this time .. Turkish man - 37 year old, has shot 12 people on a tram, injuring nine and killing three. Some are suggesting it's another terrorist attack others are suggesting this is revenge for what happened in NZ. He is on the loose massive manhunt. Happened about 15 hours ago or thereabouts. Developing story. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-47615231
  7. Just keeping these ones here for the record. If anyone wants info on them let me know. (They are all variable sizes from wish.com) Just don't want to lose them. 1. Mediterranean House and Garden - Full wall Diamond Painting. 2.My Leopard trilogy I want ... I love the look on their faces. 3. The Bear one I love the design of this 4. The Cat similar design i love 5. The dragonfly
  8. And even if one is prepared for perceived threats, it is those that blindside you that take you off guard.
  9. Tort isn't saying that what you said isn't happening. It's the old white paper with a black spot on it type of thing - even if the spot is quite big or very small our eyes focus on that instead of the clean white paper around it - being critical means we focus on the negative - and that doesn't mean the negative is untrue - it's just beneficial to focus on the good they are doing and leave the negative to Jesus who is not only watching but also in control.
  10. Most interesting Lucy. A lot will be vocal about taxpayers money going into religion ... it could be very interesting.
  11. I have to mention here, too, that what these paintings are doing for me, is because I have Cerebral Vascular Disease, they are helping my brain/mind focus and helps me sort my thoughts ... this is why this has become so special to me.
  12. Just worked out what I am - I am a Verbal Processor!!

Agreement with me? Now that is scary!

  13. I'd love to eventually have these in my collection, some, like the Green Peacock are about 110 cm high! Tom is happy for me to save up for these, so I'm squirrelling away a few dollars each week so hopefully I can get a large one to work on in the near future I can show you guys. The Green Peacock - it's a FULL round with special diamonds, which are shaped a little differently. I love the size of this. The Violin one - again I'm only getting if I can get the larger size as I don't want to lose the clarity of this design, this one will go in my music/art room when completed. The African Woman is gorgeous - and again to make sure the facial features are correct we need to get the largest one being offered. This will go in the same room as my African Elephant. Love those colourful dandelions - so those are in my agenda. Love the Mediterranean Look - so figuring if I have a few completed I could swap them around for a change of scenary in our lounge. Pink Moon is like my Blue Moon, but I will learn this time and get a bigger one. Love the colours in this.
  14. Here are my other completed ones. The Tiger on lily pads - is a partial, very cute, but not a lot to do ... great for beginners or young ones. The Blue Moon one, I feel is a bit small the picture is too pixalated to give it real justice, so when buying it IS worth the little bit more to purchase a larger size. (This was 30 x 40 cm - but that's the measurement from the end of the canvas not just the drill area - so for me from now on if the pattern can't be fit onto a 40 x 50 cm unless it's a very clear simple one = I will pass) Enjoyed the colours in this though. The Third one is my favourite full so far - it was my first and I want to do more roses. If you have any questions please ask ... it's a very simple craft, but patience is needed - this will either frustrate you or relax you. Obviously the latter for me. Many are saying if you have OCD this is wonderful for you.
  15. I have just completed a new project, I now have completed five of these diamond paintings and have a train one on the way along with a Lighthouse DP. Here is the one I've just completed ... this is a partial which means the background is printed canvas and it has limited drill area, now while I prefer full DP's - this is one partial I'm quite partial to, haha, love the background, the subject and the African flare it has to it - there was a fair amount of work to do in the drill area, so it was worth doing. If you look at the difference between the first partial and the elephant partial you will see what I mean between a very limited drill area and something more extensive. This was fun! The first photo is when I was part way through it. The second is a closeup of the drill area and the symbols. The third is it completed. The shine sometimes doesn't work in photos better with video. When I frame it I'll show you the completed work.
  16. Yes, I'm from the Ngati Tahu Tribe of Maori. Now what I said was ... was we don't have the harmful racism there is in other countries, undercurrents? Yes - most certainly, but there isn't segregation in general here, we are or used to be pretty much one people, until that is an issue surfaces then you start to see Satan's world ... but every day life ... but Racism doesn't occur with just colour of skin ... it occurs when one race feels they are above another ... it could be english verses NZ born potentially, doesn't need to be because our skin is different. We seem to have an ongoing bickering with the Australians, but it is for the most part in jest and in fact we feel very close to our Australian Neighbours both secularly and in the organization.
  17. I think, here in New Zealand, this is a profound event for different reasons than it would normally be in other parts of the world. First of all, we need to, here on JWTalk, stop making it about specific groups, because as already pointed out focusing on specific groups who are targeted in this instance, means its a distraction from other groups that could cause just as much harm. But what is different here is, New Zealand has always been seen as everyone's little sibling, everyone moves to New Zealand from well known Hollywood Icons through to diverse groups as is seen in this event. Why? Because we have little by way of harmful racism, we accept everyone into our lifestyle no matter their ethnic background - (a FEW activist notwithstanding - certainly not a perfect country by any means). Now, interestingly, this type of position we have found ourselves in is detrimental spiritually, because New Zealanders for a long time and this spills over to the brotherhood, have lived life with our heads in the sand ... even in the truth we hear of atrocities overseas but it doesn't affect us so the empathy is not as profound as it should have been. A materialistic and social types of lifestyles seem to be the norm in pockets of New Zealand. New Zealand has changed in an instant ... as Brother RIchard said in a status update, New Zealand is very sombre, I think they /we have just grown up in an instant, is that good? No. It's like a child losing it's innocence. Is there a silver lining? Yes. It's time our Brothers and Sisters realized, not just with their ears and eyes, but with their hearts, that we are living in a sinnking system and that endeavours to maintain a lifestyle NZers are accustomed to, is futile. May Jehovah be with us all as more and more of these type of events happen not just here, but around the world.
  18. Might pay to be a bit more neutral on this subject ... we certainly abhor the atrocities - even ONE death is too many ... but we need to keep our views completely neutral, whether you are right or wrong.
  19. We didn't - we went down and looked too many marquees too close to our spot - so we went and did a study.
  20. And the Canadian Shooter yes ... but it was organized though which is all we have said according to the facts that were given by the shooter himself - organized via a larger cell we don't know ... we cannot rely on past events to guage something that is unprecedented as there are rumours and have been for some time that NZ is the hub of many 'sleepers' but this again is just rumour ... time will tell. And, really, the devastating result is the same. Being the small country New Zealand they would be unwise to presume that this is all that is involved ... we are isolated and need to consider all options as unlikely some of them may seem.
  21. Yes very timely ... we weren't able to set up carts in the square where we have them normally, as people were gathering for rallies to unite races ... we got the vibe very quickly that being there was not wise. There is some interest in people in a location in Dunedin, have heard it twice now, but still not clear, so it does sound like they are in full alert still and have not ruled out that these three arrested are the only ones. I hope they are, but in this time of the end expect the unexpected.
  22. Brother Johan - We don't know yet if its attached to a bigger cell - NZ Police has not even released his name let alone any other details. You are getting ahead of yourself. The only reason we know his name is that he released it himself on social media. NZ was not the original target - his own words, but then I'm not inclined to believe anything he says.
  23. Yes it was organized it had been organized for over year or maybe even two, but the target originally was not NZ, it is only in recent months he decided to make it a NZ based target. So I'm guessing other plans either by the group he's associated with (even if its not an official group there was more than one) or by other groups.
  24. Just been informed by an elder that there is a muslim rally on at the same place we have carts this morning, have been instructed to only set them up if we can be viewed as separate from the rally - if we can't then don't set up. Time to be cautious as serpents in lil ole NZ.
