Well, had my 3 month medical checkup today. Doc was ecstatic about the weight loss.
But for some reason my A1c just will not drop. 🥺 Well it dropped a point. Doesn’t make sense to me. So I’m still in the pre-diabetic stage.
Now we’re just going to see about maintaining the weight downward trend and also check back in 3 months with A1c bloodwork.
She wanted to go 6 months but I want to keep a close watch on that A1c.

Delighted to hear you have lost weight. You must have managed it through diet and exercise. One medical specialist in a talk, said that walking is not good enough to keep sugar level down. I try to walk up an incline at a hill nearby. I find it excellent for boosting my energy level. Otherwise I would be lethargic. My bp is ok, my weight is normal but that A1C is bad so is the cholesterol. Will do more exercise and see if it will drop. I have to stop eating chocolates and breakfast cereals. Stick to oatmeal and brown rice. I have eating vegetarian but I think I should incorporate lean chicken and steamed/baked fish to stave off the hunger pangs.
You're giving me an incentive to climb more hills. Hiking perhaps. 1 step at a time. Don't want to be too ambitious and fall back to my bad old ways.
Hoping to hear good news from you soon.
Hi MikkiSoo. Watch your carbs. If a person is looking to lose weight sugar has to go and carbs limited.
I was drinking 1-2 sodas a day for many years. I dropped it totally back in first part of November last year.
Also was a big time processed food eater. Not anymore.
But each person is different and has their own way of doing things. 😁
Thanks for the tips. My son has been a diabetic since the age of 32. His paternal grandfather and granduncle were morbidly obese like jabba the hutt. At least 1/4 a hutt.
Now he is condemned to a future of endless dialysis, kidney failure limb amputation etc. He has not lost any weight, his waist is 40 " for a Chinese whose height is less than 5 ft. 6 ".
I have to find a way to save myself from descending into full scale diabetes and he, into a lifetime battling heart disease. He also has high blood. He does go swimming at the pool in his condo.
His diabetes resulted partly from a diet of MacD and soda.
Hope you'll be able to resist the temptations of all the tantalizing empty refined carbohydrates all around us. Keep a journal.
Love and hugs.
