  1. https://www.globalnewsread.com/news/world/marriage-without-strings-saudi-confronts-rise-of-misyar-times-of-india.html The practice, usually a temporary alliance in which the wife waives some conventional marriage rights such as cohabitation and financial support, has been legally permitted in the conservative Muslim kingdom for decades. “My (Saudi) friend has had 11 secret misyar wives. He divorces and marries another, divorces and marries another…,” he added, trailing off. “Being away from my wife is hard,” a 40-year-old Saudi expat pharmacist said, adding he had been searching for misyar through matchmakers on Instagram who charge as much as 5,000 riyals ($1,333). “I gave them my preference: weight, size, skin colour… but no match so far.” Such marriages are often short-lived, with most ending in divorce from anywhere between 14 and 60 days
  2. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/jun/21/mosuls-grand-al-nouri-mosque-blown-up-by-isis-fighters This mosque was the place where Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi declared the caliphate years ago. It was always one of islam's most venerated sites. I can only imagine the shock that must have gone through the muslim community for this egoistic and desperate "scorched earth" type of act. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-39339373 An interesting little step towards the destruction of Babylon the Great? In any case, this will cause the river Euphrates to dry up a little more.

About JWTalk.net - Jehovah's Witnesses Online Community

Since 2006, JWTalk has proved to be a well-moderated online community for real Jehovah's Witnesses on the web. However, our community is not an official website of Jehovah's Witnesses. It is not endorsed, sponsored, or maintained by any legal entity used by Jehovah's Witnesses. We are a pro-JW community maintained by brothers and sisters around the world. We expect all community members to be active publishers in their congregations, therefore, please do not apply for membership if you are not currently one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
