Post office stopping mail delivery?

We have cluster boxes in my neighborhood.  The post office has been building them in new neighborhoods down here for years.  My house was built in 2001, and they were installed.

Honestly, it makes sense, it's real easy for the mail person.  He/she just drives up to the box, and puts in mail for about ten homes.  Then they drive down the street, and put the mail in the next box.  It's pretty much the same idea as you often see in apartment complexes.  Often apartment complexes will have one area in the complex where everyone has a mail box and a key to open their box.  Mail person just stops at one place and puts all the mail in.  Only time the mail person comes to my door is if I have a package that is too big to fit in the box or if I have to sign for something.

This is not a new thing they are doing.  As I said, we have had it since 2001.  I think the post office will just be constructing them more.

our local news presented a humorous little quip regarding this topic recently...

"The Post Office is suffering? Let the Jehovah's Witnesses deliver the mail."

our congregation loved it :D

At that time those who fear Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion,

and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening..." ~ Malachi 3:16

I guess in the near future, some of us will have to go to the store that takes bill payments, like our phone, electric bill and etc.  Can't you just see this economic system dying out?  Everyday there's something new, and its NOT good news.   I heard today that the President wants to appoint a new Federal Bank head.  I guess the other guy, is retiring.   They have 2 for the position, both are not welcomed by the opposing side (GOP).

I know they have it in Canada - as my sister lives there.  Her box is not far though, since she's on a corner lot.

Now with paperless billing, online banking, e-mail, and other forms of technology it seems that there just isn't a demand for the USPS.

Or Canada Post either.  Parcel post is where the money is now. Postal mail delivery is expensive ( wages - benefits that even private sector doesn't have ). Even rural delivery ( contract work ) is being phased out - had rural community mail boxes 10 years ago that I used.  However I remember when everybody had to go to the post office and Pick Up Your Own Mail :omg: and in some smaller communities that was in late 1970's -although we had/still have some rural delivery 6 days a week ( cut back to 5 days 1980's? )
