I have just updated to the lastest version 8.1 so far good. Hope I have done the right thing.

so i have just gone to upload a picture using the Attach Files ( choose Files....) tab & I couldn't get it to engage, 

So I am just wondering is it my settings please?

 

& is there any disadvantage to having the new 8.1 please? & thank you. :boating:  :flowers:  :boating:

I have heard so many bad things about Win 8. You could not pay me enough to upgrade to that overrated trash op sys. No way. Its garbage from the top down.

Please.

Don't revert back! Win 8.1 is better than win 8 and solves most things people complained about win8 vs win 7 (naimly the metro style interface ... I like it though) with win 8.1 you can work with only the desktop as if it were win7

Anyway, I'm sure you problem isn't due to the OS

Check if you have installed flash

Check the basic answering box intead of the advanced one

Share more details of what you're doing and what you're getting

I noticed my printer seemed to work better with the updated version.

I wanted to download and print up some activities for the kids for family worship.

I couldn't download from JW.org

I am puzzled.

The laptop was running a bit sluggish

Lately.

I cleaned it up and delete a load of trash.

I like the photo quality better.

But not sure about upload from my laptop to the forum. ?

probably win8 demands more than your lap can give (maybe it overloads the lap) - if your lap performance is not that high it'd be better to swap to win7

 

 

try a browser that is not that sofisticated - Google Chrome - it could help - and wait a little bit after clicking CHOOSE FILES

Hmmm... it's a HP model and I have had it since December.

- see if you have higher performance than it is indicated in this site 

 

-  if you had problems from the first time when the win8 was instaled then ..... , but if had not problems in the beginning, maybe you should reinstall windows

I totally agree with Jayrtom.  I bought a Windows 8 computer and HATED it, but since upgrading to 8.1 I hate it less, seems to actually run better, not nearly as many problems as before.  So don't revert!

Hey Gabe, can you be more specific on what you mean by " couldn't get it to engage"?

Being able to attach or not has nothing to do with performance... It can take more or less time, only that...

I have just tried again to upload a picture as a test.

I go to choose file. at the bottom of the page. I also have tried the basic upload tab next to it.

 

they lite up. then says try our advanced uploader ( requires flash 8) don't know what that means.

 

 

I tried again to download from JW.ORG. a print up sheet & the screen goes blank.

I can see my tabs.

I don't know why that is also happening.
