In Canada they are talking no gay sex in past 5 years to be eligible to donate blood.  Here is something really scary. They have for several years accepted Organ Donations from Aids patients.

Personally told to me by a health professional who procures organs for transplants - she was after my late daughter-in-law's organs

( no - not from Aids - Kidney & several other organ failures - accelerated by a transfusion - not a witness ).
