I knew about an issue with porn with teenagers. But this made my stomach churn. How twisted is this world becoming when kids are hurting kids this way...

Exposure to online pornography is driving an increase in the severity of sexual abuse committed by children against their peers, according to a leading expert in sexually harmful behaviour among young people.

Dale Tolliday, clinical advisor to New Street Services, which treats children who engage in sexually harmful behaviour towards others, said he had noticed a rise in cases... since the late 1990s.

"We believe it is due to the availability of explicit material online," he said.

New Street Services provides therapeutic treatment in Sydney, the Hunter region and Western NSW with a new hub to open in the Illawarra region.

Children who are referred to the service are aged between 10-17 and have engaged in sexually abusive behaviour towards others but have not been charged.

Figures from the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research shows the number of sexual offences committed by juveniles is up almost 11 per cent each year for the past five years.

Social commentator Melissa Tankard Reist, co-founder of Collective Shout For A World Free of Sexploitation, said a tipping point had been reached and government regulation of online pornography was needed.

"How much worse does it have to get? How many more five-year-olds do we want to have in treatment programs until we say maybe it shouldn't be a free-for-all where kids can access torture porn and rape porn and incest porn? Children are being groomed to think this stuff is normal."

I didn't to read it all it makes me sick when I read this, yet it is sad but true.

I am in the age bracket. Hehe! Anyway, for myself, that is true. It makes me always recognize how good is to be a servant comparing to others. As we expose, the more consequences will get. So that I always give thanks to Jehovah for your publications! :-)

Crazy things are happening at schools now.  We have many children of refugees at schools in our area, and they have been traumatised beyond what we can understand.  Then society thinks that they can be normalised by just sending them to the local public schools - "living in Australia" will fix all their psychological problems.  Sad.

 

Unfortunately, when you get an desensitised population of young ones, meeting up with a disenfranchised section of the community (our indigenous population), throw in some porn and violent video games and movies, and what do you get?  School is a sexually perverted place, a minefield for our kids.  The coercion to have sex for favours, the brutualisation and bullying - well, we don't wonder at how bad this world has become.
