The commercials are even getting more explicit (gay and straight)...this system really is turning into a modern sodom and gomorrah..sigh...

Many years maybe decades ago, a young brother was riding a bus. It was before all the homo stuff was out, and the term gay was unused much.

Sitting next to him was another male. He turned to the young brother and said, 'I'm gay'.

The brother smiled and answered very naively, 'I'm pretty happy myself'. 😁

 

Too bad a word that used to stand for something nice has to be twisted to mean something so wrong..😠

This system of things will teach our kids about evolution, alternative moral compasses, and all sorts of things. All we can do is do our best to give our kids a fine, scriptural ground. We cannot ask the world around us to change.

I sometimes wonder: If Sodom & Gomorrah was around today... they would likely cringe in embarrassment because of the way the world's standards have sunk to new lows.

Slightly off topic, but ....

 

I have the expanded option for the Unread Content set so it displays a little text for the new posts and I generally more "glance" at it then "read" it when looking at the list of unread threads on my PC. Well, when I looked just now, the above post was the one shown on my "unread" screen. When I first glanced at is I saw:

This would never have happened when I was a kid. The world didn't use to flaunt it like they do now. It will get worse and it will be bad. I was informed that June gay pride month.  I've seen various articles about different communities having gay pride events this month. 

 

My home town back in Indiana had its first gay pride festival this past April.  

 

Then we have the news story on this forum about the Scandinavian school that altered the year end play to depict a gay couple, then changed it back to a straight couple so a Witness youth could participate.

This would never have happened when I was a kid. The world didn't use to flaunt it like they do now. It will get worse and it will be bad. As soon as you speak up for traditional family values they jump all over you. 

The reason, though, that they didn’t speak out was for fear of violence or severe retribution’s, such as cut family ties, simply because of a different sexuality. These days they still fear all of that, but it has become a bit better, and many consider pride festivals a ‘safe zone’. Many businesses see it as great for their businesses to show that they are inclusive and non-judgmental.

This world usually goes from one extreme to another.

 

Would we have been equally as outraged when, 50 years ago, gay people were regularly beaten up - not just by members of the public but by police and there was nothing they could do about it? These and other experiences have made people move to the opposite end of the spectrum - because society now allows them to do just that. So beating up is (rightly so) illegal, so just let them get married! 

 

We have a local strip club that is heaving every night of the year (not just in June) - it's bang on in the middle of the city centre not just some dodgy red light district. 

 

Up until a few years ago, there was a page three girl every day of their year. 

 

In my place of work we have men and women who are proud to live a very promiscuous lifestyle and there are flings going on between employees all the time.

 

Are we as outraged about that as well? Because to Jehovah it doesn't make a difference. They are all immoral lifestyles but they no longer need promoting because they have become part of "normal" life.

 

Granted, society never felt they needed to "speak up" for unmarried couples or pregnant teenagers - who in the past would have been ostracised. It just became "normal" - but we have to acknowledge that one part of Satan's system isn't worse or better than the other. Do we feel disgusted about gays but are perfectly fine with promiscuous hetero people? Would we avoid films that promote a gay couple but are ok with watching films that show otherwise questionable moral content?

Heterosexual promiscuity made its rapid decline after WWI when a multitude of competing "rights" came on the scene.  Women's suffregette movement, women in the workforce, the release of the old conventions pre-WWI with a bang in the roaring 20's, which continued throughout the decades until the 60's where it bore fruition - freedom!  Like our WT today said regarding freedom - it comes with a price if you don't have rules and regulations.  But they happily threw the moral laws out the window, and in the 70's we saw steady increase of divorce, unmarried mothers in the open now, increase promiscuity with no boundaries.  They had achieved their "right" to have consensual sex.

 

Enter the last two decades, where the gays also fought for their rights, through the AIDs epidemic of the 1980's, the gay pride marches that started out as protests, (but now earn multi-million dollars for the government and commercial system). To the last frontier of same-sex marriage.  All normal and in their rightful place in the eyes of the majority of society worldwide.

 

It's taken a little longer for everyone's "rights" to immorality without censure to come about, but now, I guess the sickle is in and the harvest is ready.

Ps 92:7 comes to mind "When the wicked sprout like weeds and all the wrongdoers flourish, it is that they may be annihilated forever."
