Understand The Difference Between Second Cousins And Cousins Once Removed

Recommended Posts

Remembering the difference between a “second cousin” and a “cousin once removed” is one of those facts that I have filed away in my brain as non-essential. I think I know the difference, but then I get fuzzy on the details.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

The chart does help

It does!

I can never remember how it goes either. I would be completely lost at a family reunion. I usually don't associate with them kinda people no how....

I think it will be cool in the paradise, not just at the ressurection but perhaps meet ones from this system who are related perhaps 4th cousins or whatever who are witnesses.

I know myself if I go back to my greatgrandparents generation I have grand uncles and aunts who moved to the U.S and other places and I often wonder if any of their descendants are witnesses. These things will all be revealed soon enough.

Ha ya my family is so big I hardly know all my own cousins let alone my parents. I can barely remember some my parents uncles and aunts. Forget all the rest.

It is a generational thing. 1st cousins are children of siblings. Children of one cousin are once removed of 1st cousin, etc.

2nd generation of both are 2nd cousins. Has to be equal on both lines of decent otherwise it is x.removed etc. Yes it can get out of hand quickly.😖

Consciousness, that annoying time between naps!
