Housing in places run by governmt and religions

Recommended Posts

Dear friends, this is not an important question but would like some assistance please.  There are several brothers and sisters in my state that live in housing, some of the housing programs are through the fed government and they also have names like Catholic Charities.  Other places say Presbyterian housing, and so forth.  A recall years ago a WT, that talked about that, and it did not condemn person's living in those places.  Could someone or many of you please help me?

Thank You

can you eat food that was in a ceremony that later on was repurposed for food at a restaurant that you didn't know about?  could you eat it after the fact not being apart of the ceremony and no one would consider you as part of the ceremony?

do you use hospitals that are "catholic"?

Lisa, I think this might be the article you remember (this is just a excerpt):

Question Box
▪ Is it proper for one of Jehovah’s Witnesses to receive treatment and care at a hospital or nursing home operated by a religious organization?
Various religious organizations operate hospitals or nursing homes that provide medical treatment or long-term care. Generally, such facilities are not established for the outright promotion of Babylon the Great. (Rev. 18:2, 4) They may originally have been incorporated to serve a religious organization as a source of income. Today, some hospitals are religious in their name only, whereas others are still partially staffed by members of the clergy.
If one of Jehovah’s Witnesses requires hospital or nursing care, he must make his own decision as to whether he will go to a facility that may possibly be connected with a religious organization. The conscience of one might permit him to do so, but the conscience of another may prevent him from doing so. (1 Tim. 1:5) There are certain circumstances that may have a bearing on one’s decision, and it is good to consider these.

Basically the point is, if they give you a service and you pay for it, it doesn't really matter what religion the person or the organization belongs to, you are just doing a commercial transaction. Of course, if a Christian feels uncomfortable in that situation he should follow his conscience.

Thank you Br. Carlos, I found other articles like the 1999 WT April 15 edition but it was about work and working in a religious or some other type of work, but basically, it was a choice of conscious.  Many of the friends in my territory, live in these communities that are run through Catholic Charties but its the federal government HUD, who controls the buildings and rents.  The charties only help you with an application, depending on what community you chose, you pay for the application or its free.  Thank you for searching out this article, this is one that meets my question.  Thank you all very much.
