What is, or was your ideal age?

Recommended Posts

I’m 75, and actually pretty happy with it. Oh, my body is like all 75 years old one. Way past it’s prime. Way past it.

I have to be careful. I think. I dress how I dress, and, it’s a style I could have comfortably worn 25 years ago. I love color, and that hasn’t changed.

At home, I’m still most comfortable in a tee shirt, and cut off jeans.

Mentally, other then hiding things, yet to be hidden from me, I love what Jehovah has done to my brain. And, I tell you, if it weren’t for Jehovah...

In  this system, I’d be happy to go back to what I was when I was 50. (A sister had this talk with me, and after wards, she said my half life was 50.)

I still hear my mother in law. I asked her something that she gave this response to. “When I was 62, I was still young. I could do what I wanted, with no restrictions”.

I love that. I could whine here and there, but I’m not limited. Yet. On the cusp, but I fight it. I’ve always thought to challenge myself doing hard work. I still can, but for not as long..

One day...

I want to age without sharp corners, and have an obedient heart!

21, 22 years old, I was thinner, no anxiety, enjoying full time service with my fiance/wife.

The only different things that I like now are my 2 daughters and the fact that we are about to enter Paradise...

26 years old was my best age.  I was slim and cute, my son was young and bright (six years old).  I thought someone loved me enough to marry me.  I was firm in the Truth, living in a great apartment in Chicago, had my very best job I ever had.  When I talk about my "good old days", I am not making them more golden than they were.... it was much better times for me 25 years ago than now.  Things were very, very good and hopeful then.  :)

My ideal age? Was it ever so? My ideal age is flitting, nothing much ideal about it now. So many ages when things seem better when looking back but there were always enough anxieties to fill the day. Let me think...

"Deep in December, it's nice to remember,

Although you know the snow will follow.

Deep in December, it's nice to remember,

Without a hurt the heart is hollow.

Deep in December, it's nice to remember,

The fire of September that made us mellow.

Deep in December, our hearts should remember

And follow."

I am not sying I am Superman, I am only saying that nobody has ever seen Superman  and me in a room together.

I have to rethink this. Spiritually? 75. I do wish I had a younger body to do more for Jehovah, but I love where I am today. And, as I look back, thought, I made it a rough go sometimes, It’s ended up for me to be happier then I feel I deserve to be.

If I could go back, it would be to 1962, and a decision I very immaturely made.

I’d love to be in a third world country, worrying about nothing but my service to Jehovah for the day.

Alas, I’m still happier then I thought I’d ever be.

I want to age without sharp corners, and have an obedient heart!

When I was in my 20s, I had a lot of energy, I could play sports all day. So the 20s was an ideal age for physical energy/athleticism.

But in my 30s, I had became a shepherd and had to grow so much spiritually. So the 30s was an ideal age for growth/maturity.

And now that I feel like I am 120yrs old, it is an ideal age for the New World to begin. :)

"Create in me a pure heart, O God, And put within me a new spirit, a steadfast one" (PS 51:10)

While I enjoyed my 20's mid 20's specifically - I wouldn't redo them.

I was thinking how the world go all warm and fuzzy over the term for young lovers: "We will grow old together"

I think more, and more, my mind is thinking about Tom and I growing young together.

I don't have a favourite age, yet, that is to come.

Age to come, yes probably the best.

One of the defining teachings of Br. Russell was on " The Age To Come."

I believe I am the perfect age for as old as I am. If I was older then I wouldn't be as young as i am now and if I was younger I wouldn't be as old as I am now. However, I do wish I was 25 again...

I'm 31 and I feel like I haven't reached my prime age yet.

I have this very childish soul within me so I think I'll have to be 100 years old to be mature and stable.

And I'd say 100 would be my ideal age, also the age I want to marry. (I can't guarantee that, though)

My father is 70 now and he says when he was 60 he was quite young, never knew that before.

In God's eyes, we are only infants so never lose your mental youth!

Try To Remember - Cover Version by Andy Williams

Daydream -

Scientists have discovered that daydreaming is an important tool for creativity. It causes a rush of activity in a circuit, which connects different parts of the brain and allows the mind to make new associations.
