Recently a coworker of mine revealed that he was enrolled as a volunteer participant in a local effort to map and sync the human consciousness to a computer via a brain implant. His stated goal is to be expected me of the first generation of cyberneically AI interfaced humans : A Transhuman and hopefully have his consciousness replicated to the degree that he may be able to become cybernetically immortal! Is this happening anyplace else?

 The AI is supposedly acting as a proxy for his own reactions. An Artificial brain . It would then predicted with high accuracy how he would respond. So he is to be somewhat insulated . So far it seems to be unilateral. Otherwise he could have the Dr. Octopus effect.

Oh , I totally agree. To myself this is a new way for Satan to compete with Jehovah. Why seek a relationship with Jehovah’s and do his will when you can replace your physical self eventually with an entirely artificial body.  I see it as a kind of technological humanist Salvation.
